This place is about 5 to10mins drive from the nearest main road. Seems like a quiet farm area to me. The key is self collection and you are able to park your vehicle on the premise for free. Everything is so comfy here and it is getting real dark during night hence make it a good spot for aurora hunting. Got the necessary facility in the unit as well. We are the sole guests during that night so can't really comment on soundproofing part that we read from other comments. Overall I would say it is a good place to spend your night at Iceland

We loved staying at The Garage. The property was picturesque, comfortable, and such an easy checkin. The surrounding areas were fantastic. The views around the property were stunning. The beds and apartment were extremely comfortable. We absolutely loved it and would come back again!

I would have liked to have more time to get up in the mountains and hike, visit the glacier, and explore Vestmannaeyjar islands. The property was very convenient to explore many attractions, like Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss, and also not too far for a day trip to Vik.KatieMexico

While at dinner the chef came and told us that the lights were active (unfortunately not for long) and that he would keep our food warm while we went out, we then got a knock on a hotel door approx. 30mins after leaving the restaurant and it was the chef again prompted the lights (PS. we got engaged under them)! We appreciated the attentiveness and going that extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay.

This was the only hotel that took the effort of surprising us with this and we loved it! We also had one of the best dinners of our trip here. The lamb with the toasted mushroom sauce was great and the cod was also super fresh! We ended the night with the hottubs which were at the perfect temperature and with an amazing view of the mountains. We definately will be returning when we come back to iceland.StefNetherlands

The staff was attentive and friendly. Dinner in their restaurant was very nice altho the vegetarian option was not great that night, the seafood was wonderful. The breakfast room was spacious and very clean, the choice of food was a bit limited, altho we were on the later end of the breakfast timeframe - get there early!

Took us about 2-3 hours to drive to Jökulsárlòn at the biggest glacier Vatnajökull and Diamond Beach from the hotel, beautiful drive as well.
