This hotel exceeded my expectations, as I had read mixed reviews on here regarding some factors like cleanliness, spa facilities and food. We loved this hotel for many reasons: The location was fantastic situated up on a hillside with a beautiful 360 degree view. The hotel itself is a very charming and intimate boutique hotel with an artsy feel. Comfortable common space to sit and enjoy the views outside of your room or to have a cocktail from the bar. The view from our room was amazing, and we were able to see the Northern Lights from our room the night we stayed there. We loved the spa and wished we were able to spend more time there. They have beautiful thermal baths and inside/outside thermal pools in case of weather. We did not partake in the dinner the night we stayed, but the breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip. Wonderful dogs on the property that we really enjoyed having around.

We reserved 2 rooms for 1 night. The room with 3 beds was a bit crowded. It was easy to find. Easy to get into our room.
We came here after arriving from the US and visiting the Lava Tunnel...was quiet enough for a nap in the late afternoon!

It's not close to town which makes it a good location for stargazing or catching the northern lights if the weather cooperates. There aren't many cottages giving you a degree of privacy that feels exclusive. It's close enough to Selfoss to be convenient for dining and basic needs. We used it as a springboard to all of Southwestern Iceland as far as Vik. Great location!
The property owners live on site and are amazingly responsive to any issue in addition to being courteous communicators.
