The location, the welcome and the design/feeling at the Hotel was exemplary. Very friendly staff greeting us and a warm, comfortable vibe in the lobby area made us feel at home quickly. We had a nice room on the 1st floor that was super cozy and nicely decorated - bed was very nice to sleep on :)
Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and delicious.

Staying at Akkeri for a week in early March was wonderful. The accommodations were very comfortable and clean. Our host was very helpful and made sure all the guests were taken care of. I liked that we had refrigerator space and all the utensils and dishes we needed to make our own breakfast and lunch, with tables to eat at. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were always available. We were also able to have a load of laundry done at a reasonable price. And we loved Stykkisholmur!

The apartment is spacious, cozy and decorated with intention, and i just a stone’s throw away from the harbor and the town’s supermarket.

Only a couple of hours from Reykjavik but this place feels very much away from it all. The roads in and out aren't the easiest depending on the weather. We visited in early April and got stuck in snow (twice!) on the way in taking the northern road then feared getting stuck due to road closures and difficult driving conditions on the way out but we made it. Because of this we didn't get to see as much as we'd have liked. But we did have excellent takeaway fish and chips from the harbour front at Hafnarvaginn

Small, quiet (at this time of year) but very peaceful and beautiful! We caught our best show of the northern lights here! Also, would highly recommend Narfreyrarstofa for dinner, delicious and great atmosphere!

I loved the small-town vibe and charming Icelandic architecture located on an active harbour. Beautiful ocean views from the harbour-adjacent island walk! Enjoyed soaking at the local pool/hot pots, and happy to have a bakery, grocery store, and restaurants to choose from for meals. I would gladly stay here again, or for more than one night to see some of the local museums which were closed over Easter weekend.

The staff was excellent and very accommodating. They knew the area well and could recommend meals and other services to us. We ate at a very nice fish restaurant where the one waitress ran the entire restaurant efficiently and in a timely fashion.Great food

Great location on north side of peninsula.
Great location on north side of peninsula. Wish we’d had more time to explore. Excellent northern lights viewing near the lighthouse. Go up the stairs toward the lighthouse and turn left to block harbor lights.

It is a nice little town by the sea.
It is a nice little town by the sea. There is a small hill by the harbor you can climb that offers beautiful views. There are also a few restaurants, cafes, shops and museums but it is also nice to just walk around.
i would love to say a huuuge THANK You for the owner(Skarph ?) to having us in this beautiful gem. loved this cosy , super clean warm hotel.
we arrived there at 29 may, booked the cheapest priced room, but the owner upgraded us because the hotel was not fully booked that day.
i was so happy. :) so we got the room 7 with a wonderful harbor view.
i would definitely recommend this Hotel to everyone who would love to spend time in Stykkyholmur.
oh!!! and dont forget to drink coffee there :) it sooo tasty :)
This was the first and in many ways the best hotel during our 10-night Iceland tour. The staff was very friendly, and they responded to my messages quickly. The room was clean, beds comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely superb: there were plenty of options (both yummy and healthy) suitable for all (including even vegetarian ones), a good coffee machine, and the best carrot cake I have ever tasted! The location of the hotel is also very handy, next to the harbor.
The hotel has a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. From the restaurant area you can see the typical Icelandic landscape and the beach - lovely! The rooms are well equipped with a focus on details (like small decoration elements). The staff was very nice and helped us with any question we had. Breakfast can be booked in addition and contains everything you need - we especially loved the fresh croissants :) We really enjoyed our stay.
Nice little cottage/apartment in the outskirts of Stykkishólmur. It has all the facilities with a mini kitchenette where you can cook. Has a nice sofa and overall well maintained.
I had read reviews that had expressed concerns about the bedroom in the attic which is almost like crawling space, but we had no problems with it.
Overall, a nice stay with great value for money.
So happy that this was our first stop on our Iceland roadtrip. The hotel was very cosy, clean and rooms seemed to be recently done up, too. Big thanks to Sarah and Tim for all the conversations, suggestions and insider advice that only locals can give :) Also really loved the family vibe with guests chatting at the breakfast table.
Amazing family-run hotel at a great location. Staff were extra nice and attentive. The room was small but everything was top notch, high quality. Great breakfast.
Truly enjoyed my stay and will not think twice to book it again next time I'm in Iceland!
Cozy hotel, with incredible helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and a cute lobby. Able to get free coffee/tea at any time. Located right next door to a couple of restaurants, one of which has the best fish and chips (spicy Dorito-encrusted!).
located in the center of the beautiful village of Stykkishólmur, our entry point to the route in Snæfellsjökull peninsula, a must see in Iceland. comfortable, clean room and bathroom. Great breakfast at fare price. Helpful host.
Beautiful, spotlessly clean room with a lovely hostess. Perfect location right in town and our room has a harbor view. Breakfast was ready early - very much appreciated in late starting Iceland - and beautifully prepared.
The room is spacious with good facilities. We were happy about the dinner menu and the possibility to do laundry too. The staff was extremely friendly. The wooden structure of the hotel makes it super cosy.
After 5 days traveling the country and staying in Airbnbs it was very nice to stay in a hotel. Most water in Iceland has an odor to it, there was none at this hotel and it was greatly appreciated.
Great location for the Snæfellsnes loop.
Really nice cabin - all the amenities you’d need.
and you just cannot ignore the gorgeous Icelandic Sheepdog pal - he routinely ‘pawtrols’ the area
Great location and great hotel. It felt very new and clean. The breakfast had a ton of options too. We love this town the most after a week on the Ring Road.
Great location next to a golf place, comfy kitchen with everything you need, super clean. It's a self check-in hotel, so you can travel without pressure.
