Charming/spacious (2 bathrms, 2 bedrms and nice kitchen)/very clean/well appointed and the owner took the time to meet us. The location was great up on the mountain with wonderful views and literally in the center of town. Plenty of parking. Outside the villa there was a private stone patio for relaxing/morning coffee, etc.

Emanuele and Alba were magnificent hosts. Through google translate, we were able to communicate and share some laughs. The apartment is in a house that Emanuele’s grandparents owned so there’s a lot of history here! There’s plenty of old Italian charm but the kitchen/bathroom fixtures are modern. There is a huge patio off the kitchen that overlooks the valley. The location is in the middle of a really charming old village, and fun to walk around in for those who have good mobility. The neighbors are friendly. In 3 trips to Italy, this is the most truly old-world Italian stay we’ve had.

Historic Arce is a very small village on a steep hill. You need a vehicle to get there, and a good pair of legs when you are there. I went there specifically for a festival, which made the village come alive. In normal times it is not really a destination, but is in a good location for visiting the surrounding areas, and there are good views of the countryside.
