Everything was perfect! The apartment is a peaceful little gem with a big terrace and a beautiful mountain view. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is super comfortable. The location is very convenient, Barga city centre can be easily reached with a 5 minutes walk and it's a good base to reach many trails and attractions in Garfagnana. Great location for touring around the area by car. The views from the place are just stunning. Anna Maria is a great host. She went out of her way to help me try and arrange a visit to a nearby church and shared things from her garden and orchard.

The host was wonderful and the accommodation was better than expected. It’s on the 2 nd floor. She had kept the house cool for us and put water in the fridge to cool ( it was a 98 degree day). There were nice cafes nearby and the area was very quiet at night. There is a lovely view. There is free parking at the apartment.

The most favourite place that I have visited in all the world and I would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to visit Tuscanyt. Barga Veccia ,has a stunning Cathedral, an Opera house, many fabulous restuarants and throughout the town there are many art galleries and individual shops to explore. There is also a swimming pool open during the summer months. Do not miss going to Casa de Vino for wine tasting and picnic. It is also easy to travel from there to Lucca, Viaregio Castelnouvo and you can even visit Florence from here for the day.
Bite the bullet and go there you will not regret it, enjoy.

The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful.
The town was beautiful and nature is wonderful. We would love to come back. We came on a Monday and several restaurants were closed because it was in the beginning of October. It will be nice to be in the town, when all places are open.

Barga is a beautiful old town with some stunning scenery. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and a market once a week - recommended.
If travelling by train, allow plenty of extra time in case of line changes - the cost of train travel is low but remember to validate your ticket on the station platform before boarding.
Barga is a fabulous Tuscan location.

The historic village has meandering lanes and alleys.
The historic village has meandering lanes and alleys. They can be quite steep, so wear flat shoes with a good tread. From the hillside and the duomo you will enjoy amazing views of the mountains and the valley. The newer section of town outside the walls is also lovely and worth a visit.

Cathy and Walter are the perfect owners of more than a perfect hotel. What a fabulous place to stay so much so we felt sad to leave and continue our Italian road trip. The extra touches to the room were exceptional, and the decor and location within the Barga walls were outstanding. We wouldn't stay anywhere else now and have recommended it to all family too. Outstanding, thank you so much for making our three nights stay a stay to treasure forever. Helen and Lyndsay x
The location was wonderful - a quiet street in the charming old town part of Barga with good restaurants very close by including a lively cafe with good food in a loggia. Giordano was very nice and helpful. The hotel itself is exceptionally interesting, in a multi-floor large house, with several rooms full of paintings. Our room was larger than most hotel rooms, not fancy but with a great view of the town and mountains. Overall, my wife and I loved out stay.
We stayed in the chalet which was very compact but well equipped. The outdoor space was perfect - a large garden with patio areas for relaxing and dining, and just a minute from the fabulous pool in a lovely and well maintained large garden. The surrounding area is beautiful - trees and hills all around. Its about 10 - 15 mins uphill to Barga but a nice walk. Our host was very helpful and picked us up from the bus stop.
I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful down to earth Villa in a perfect central location to explore Barga, and Alpi Apuani an southern Garfagnana. my room looked out over the fairy tale looking old town of Barga and the aqueduct leading to the old town. My host, Adele was exceptionally warm and friendly. the breakfast selection was ample and delicious. I will definitely stay here again!
The name literally means In the Sky…of Barga…and the location lived up to its name. It is located just below the Duomo, the highest point in this enchanting medieval town. From the room and its nice sized balcony, the rooftops are just below, offering incomparable vistas of Barga and the Serchio River valley. Great bed. Nice bathroom. But it’s the views that are incomparable.
Lovely airy room right in the very center of the old town of Barga. A large balcony with an arch gave a beautiful view over the city and surrounding mountains, providing spectacular sunsets. The fittings and decorations of the room are simple but exquisitely tasteful. Spacious bathroom. Welcoming and helpful host.
The hotel has a very beautiful setting. The space was clean and cool, despite the heat. There is a full kitchen for guests to use and some basic supplies for breakfast, including delicious home made jams. The host is extremely kind and helpful, we really enjoyed chatting to her in the kitchen.
Barga is a dreamy location. This house is perfectly located at the foot of the old city. The staff was attentive. The one bedroom upstairs is comfortable, and Lee other room with the trundle bed was fine for my adult son who joined us. At this price and that location it was perfect.
Beautiful quiet rural location with great views over the valley. Very friendly and helpful owners. The house and the rooms are well kept and clean. Hiking paths nearby.
The beautiful medieval town of Barga is at walking distance, although the return is uphill.
absolutely stunning period property with lots of original features and decor. beautifully maintained and cleaned. spacious and comfortable. great location for exploring Barga. the staff are all lovely and cannot do enough for you.
Beautiful historic villa with absolutely stunning views of the old town of Barga. Very pleasant grounds and gardens for relaxing if your feet are tired from hiking. A fabulous breakfast buffet to keep you going for the day!
The restaurant and its staff are excellent and with inventive and delicious dishes, good value for the quality it serves. Our room has panoramic views across the valley and Barga. Quiet surroundings on a hillside.
Luca was an amazing host. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. He has a fantastic location, where we accessed great walks around Barga. Thank you so much
The staff were friendly, the room was spacious and clean with a lovely large balcony area and great views. The grounds and pool looked very pleasant. The hotel was easy to find and parking was very convenient.
The managers of this hotel - Cathy and Walter - are so extraordinarily helpful and kind. One may come to them with any sort of question, and they will find the ideal solution.
