You either need to be staying right in the city centre (Centro Storico) or you need to be out of town with a car. There is very little English spoken - if you are a tourist who has not learned any of the language. A restaurant called il Monicello was the absolute highlight.

There is a kitchen stocked with everything you need to make a meal there, or enjoy your takeaway from many of the restaurants within walking distance. The large windows open wide to let in sunshine and fresh breezes. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and offer plenty of storage. The full bathrooms were clean and offered samples of the owner’s homemade soaps and shampoo, which were lovely! The owner is welcoming, helpful, and very responsive. The bed, bedding and pillows were my most comfortable sleep in a very long time. The owner makes check in very easy and provides both pdf and video of Check in so you have a very easy time finding the property and navigating to the room. Fantastic location with a beautiful view of the small square from the rear terrace.

He offered to pick us up at the train station and accommodated the check-in time we needed. The breakfast is served at a cafe in the corner of the building and it’s great. I have chosen the room with castle view but was not given one with the view. the breakfast was ok not a lot to choose from though. also showers and toilet need a renovation.
