Castelrotto is a perfect base in the heart of the Dolomites and a fascinating, beautiful village in its own right. The Alpe di Siusi meadows in summer are unmissable. If you can make the drive up through the Val Gardena above Castelrotto, it is simply spectacular.

Great location to explore most of the dolomites but would recommend hiring a car if you want to venture further out. There is a bus stop opposite the hotel for shorter explorations and lots of local walks. But we wanted to do some hikes that were a little further out (eg the three peaks) and glad we had a car! Restaurants got full in the nearby towns so would recommend booking in advance - one night we had to get a takeaway as we couldn't get in anywhere! But the nearby towns are stunning and would highly recommend as a base for the dolomites in general

Quiet and peaceful village in the Dolomites.
Quiet and peaceful village in the Dolomites. Great place to stay and go visit and drive the Dolomites and do what ever you wan to do there from hiking and biking to taking a gondola to the top of a mountain or just do scenic driving like I did. There is a great pizzeria there and a fun bar with friendly wait staff with great cocktails and most importantly delicious Italian Ice Cream. Great home base for the Dolomites area and surrounding Alps Mountains Passes. I had a beautiful BMW convertible so I did a lot of scenic driving in the area around Castelrotto.

Disclaimer: we visited during the first few weeks after the covid-19 lockdown. This means there was hardly anyone there (good), but most restaurants and hotels were closed (less good).
The village is very pretty, nestled at the end of a valley. It' a great base from which to explore the area. We stayed outside of it, in a smaller village called Tisens, a pleasant half hour hike away, so we enjoyed the view of Castelrotto.
The village has a mix of beautiful traditional buildings and incredible modern ones.
It was clean, big, comfortable & cozy. I liked the pinewood finish which was in theme with the log cabin-like feel high up in the mountains. A huge reason were the lovely, warm people who ran the hotel - a special shout out to Kadja the manager. She is a gem of a lady that really made the stay even better by her warm, humorous, kind, helpful - I could go on and on - personality. a big, big thank you to you Kadja for making our stay so special ! ❤️❤️❤️
The staff was professional and extremely kind! The lady at the reception even helped us carrying luggages and baby stuff up to the room!
The breakfast is also exceptional, plenty of options for everyone and fresh baked cakes.
The location is very central in Castelrotto, and very well connected to other major ski and hiking destination.
The room was spacious and clean, with a nice balcony over the city center.
The hotel is very clean and welcoming. Room was refreshed/cleaned every day (big thanks to Ecaterina). .Silence location even if there is a main road 50 m away..Swimming pool is very cozy and nice, we were always alone in there. Location is walking distance from the old city center.
Host has a nice dog which has a designated area at the floor. (no issues at all like in the previous reviews)
The hotel was close to a bus and had a wonderful view of the Dolomites from our room. The owner was very helpful and gave us a free room upgrade. The hotel offers a fantastic five coarse meal that is available for a reasonable price. We had an early departure so the owner packed breakfast for us. They also provided a free bus pass for our stay.
The hotel is right in the center of the old town, with easy walking access to groceries, restaurants and shopping. The owners were wonderfully generous with their time making suggestions about local events we would have otherwise missed. The restaurant at the hotel is VERY good, though a little expensive.
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Gabriela. The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The meals were great value for money, especially the breakfast which had a great selection of fruits. I would highly recommend Villa Gabriela to anyone looking for a hotel with a home-like ambiance
The apartment is very nicely finished with everything we needed. Well located near the middle of Castelrotto and convenient to the supermarket. Parking on site was very close. The team were all really friendly and helpful. I was on crutches and spent a lot of time here whilst the rest skied!
Great location, you can walk very easily to the restaurants in town and visit the cute little town. The breakfast was really good, outstanding even! From here you can go really fast to compatch if you want to spend the day at Alpe di Siusi. I recommend this hotel!
Only 10 minutes to the Seiser Alm ski area. The area around the apartment is very quiet. The apartment was modern, very well equipped and spacious. There was also an underground garage for cars on site. The hosts are on site and very helpful.
Amazing family run hotel. Feels like home. Everything was just perfect starting with great family running the place with passion and dedication which you can see. Great location, atmosphere, rooms, pools, food ... Thank you!
Beautiful hotel and mountain view, impeccable design and really comfortable room. Staff was incredibly friendly, organised a lovely cake and generous late check out for my birthday. Can recommend 100% and will be back soon.
This hotel is gorgeous!!!!! Everything from the staff to the room to the food to the bar to the sauna/pool/jacuzzi to the view from our room … unbelievable!!! We even met the owner who was si si nice!!! We are coming back!!
The location in the town was excellent, and the staff were very accommodating with us travelling with a baby - breakfast was very nice and the lady managing the hotel made great local recommendations to explore the area
Quiet, peaceful place with beautiful view. Clean, warm and comfortable apartment. Fresh bread delivery, eggs from the farm and homemade jams. Very friendly host. Just 5 minutes drive to Seiser Alm cablecar.
Everything. The interior design was outstanding the comfort of the beds were unreal. The restaurant was the best restaurant I have ever eaten in Italy by FAR!
