An Oasis in the Middle of Florence Hills!
There couldn’t be a better place to start our vacation from.
This little gem in Fiesole, one of the elite areas outside the chaotic and touristic City of Florence, was for us literally an oasis.
We had just landed in Rome after a 24 hour long flight departed from Sydney, Australia and we were driving north. Temperature was hellish and highway congested.
We soon realized that we were in no condition to continue our trip without a stop. It was a very last minute booking and we were lucky we found a room available.
Although we only had given Gennaro and Marianna, the owners, 2 hours notice of our arrival, they both immediately did everything possible to make our stay as comfortable as possible.
Once arrived at the location, we were fascinated by this 15th century building and its surroundings. It was immersed in the nature, so silent, so quiet, we almost felt we did not want to break that magic.
Inside, the building, the rooms, the breakfast hall were in rustic style furnished and decorated in line with the building. This little oasis only has 4 rooms, which keeps the chaos from checking in and out away.
Our room, a double one, with ensuite bathroom was clean and tidy, with a balcony overlooking the super view of the surrounding nature.
Breakfast was perfect and abundant. You would not get anything near that with 20Euros in any nearby bar in Fiesole.
Gennaro and Marianna are a young couple that truly love what they do. You can feel how passionate they are about their job. We could see and feel how all that passion was turned into high quality service.
Moreover, the location is only 10mins drive from Florence city centre, has a free parking included which made us save roughly 40euro per night.
We felt home, and definitely will stay again at “Florence Country Relais”.

The purpose our visit to Fiesole was to celebrate our friend's birthday whom we had not seen for years. We had never heard of Fiesole, but they were staying there for a 3 week holiday (from Canada) and so we joined them with zero expectations. Fiesole was absolutely lovely, and frankly two days was not enough. We ate very well at local restaurants and visited the lovely Franciscan monastery on top of the hill, which is well worth a look. An incredible museum with Chinese coins dating back to the 100AC (!) and an Egyptian mummified kitten amongst other extremely old antiquities! Was not expecting that LOL!
View of Florence is spectacular from Fiesole, and to think you are in a small little quiet 'village' just 20 mins drive away.

Nestled in the hills just a stone's throw away from Florence, Fiesole is a quaint Italian town that may not boast an extensive list of attractions, but it captivates visitors with its serene ambiance and unparalleled vistas of the Tuscan capital. If you're in search of a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Florence, Fiesole is the perfect destination.

We did not see much of Fiesole because our stay was short and we were focused on Florence but we would really like to have visited the Roman ruins of Fiesole. The part of town that we stayed in has a nice piazza with a restaurant, an ice-cream parlor and a really yummy food truck. It is really well connected to Florence (a cheap bus takes you to the city in 20 min. and it comes every 15 so it is really convenient). The restaurant has a gorgeous view of the whole valley with Florence in the middle. We also saw the post office and a grocery store around there. It is really a pleasant town with a lot to offer.

Quaint little town on the hill above Florence, easily accesable by bus from the centre of Florence. There are few restaurants and cafe's in the centre and also a historic centre with Roman ruins and a museum. We had 3 nights tehre, but could have easily stayd more, as the vibe of the small time is great and if you get bored you can easily go to Florence and back.

Fiesole is a beautiful vibrant village in the hills above Florence. Wonderful views back towards the city. Fascinating history to explore. The perfect place to stay out of the hustle of the city and only a 20 odd minute bus trip away. Lots of great bars and restaurants. A well stocked small supermarket. We love Fiesole.

Deliberately booked fiesole as didn't want the chaos of florence centre. However, there is a number 7 bus that goes back and forth 1.50 euro takes about 22 mins and very frequent.I believe would get a better class hotel in centre and yes same price or less .The walks are tiring around fiesole but views worth it. we were lucky sun was shining each day. some amazing sunsets about 7pm.Little cake shop towards bottom hill ALCEDO cheapest coffee to go and amazing cakes.Coop sells all need to make picnics as food is very costly
The Pensione was breathtaking as we came up by taxi. It was an idyllic setting and our first trip to Fiesole. We booked our stay based on the cooking class arranged between the Pensione and chef, Gabriele Corcos, where we had access to the Pensione’s kitchen along with the head chef who joined us through the cooking experience. it was an absolutely delightful day and culminated with sharing the meal and wines with both chefs. Our thanks to the staff for hosting the event as well as the overall relaxed experience at the Pensione.
I enjoyed to stay in the property, as it was super calm beautiful location with a huge garden, small terraces, the pool, and vineyards. There were many facilities outside the apartment, different benches and cozy chairs with tables, so we enjoyed to drink wine outside at the evening. Also, the property has a fantastic view on Florence and suburbs. The room was stylish and very cute, I even took a bath.
The room was lovely and extremely comfortable. It is perfectly located and very easy to catch a bus into Florence to spend the day, as the bus stop is located immediately outside the hotel. In addition, you must have the breakfast too! Lovely choice of fresh fruit, cereals, etc. I would also say it was lovely to return to and chill after a long day of site seeing.
It was authentically decorated, exceptionally clean, the bed was so comfortable and the location was fabulous. High ceilings, spacious and really worth a stay. Fiesole is quiet, ideal for couples and has lovely local restaurants. The bus journey into Florence is about 25mins but is dependent on traffic. We were happy not to be in the busy tourist area.
We bought our own breakfast. There are local places with good food and coffee, and excellent restaurants in walking distance. The location was excellent, with breath-taking views of Florence, good bus service into Florence, cafes, restaurants, and many stores. It was great to have a quiet place to relax after the hustle and bustle of Florence.
This is a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. My room was huge and beautifully decorated. The owner is super helpful; she even drove me to the bus stop one morning so I could catch a bus into Florence to meet my daughter. Helpful Hint: rent a car if you are going to stay here. It’s about a 50 euro cab ride into Florence.
Very peaceful and quiet place with an amazing garden. Bus #7 goes frequently to Florence and the stop isn't far from the apartment. Fiesole is a beautiful and cozy little town with some nice restaurants. Staying here was a really nice change after spending a few days in noisy, busy cities.
It’s everything you could possibly dream of for a farm stay in Tuscany. The hospitality of the host, the home prepared breakfast and the entire property and views were exceptional. We were exploring Italy by car. I would highly recommend a car for this area.
The breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a lovely view of the hills from the window. Fiesole has some great neighbourhood restaurants and the view over Florence must be one of the best views in the world!
Lovely hotel in a beautiful location in the hills overlooking Florence. Friendly staff who gave us great recommendation for dinner in the village. Was too cold for the swimming pool during our visit so that will have to wait until next time!
The setting and surrounding countryside were beautiful! Gorgeous pool. So serene. Hard to believe Florence was 4 miles away. Great bus 7 into Florence, after we parked in Fiesole.
Excellent breakfast on the patio.
Recepcion are accomodating and breakfast is good,I love the different tea options and the fresh tomatoes
The room view is Fantastic. My wife had a relaxing evening bath after the Wedding event that we attended.
Beautiful view and great localization to see Florence if you have a car, Ezio is a nice and great cook, impressive and original building. The room was interestingly arranged and cozy. Hosts are really helpful.
Amazing balcony views across Tuscany. This is our second visit and find it much better to be away from busy Florence but have the convenience of the bus service (20 mins) from Fiesole. Free parking.
The staff are very helpful, accommodating and friendly. The hotel is in good proximity to some restaurants, shops and bus stops.
The room was clean, tidy and the bed was comfortable.
Loved the location overlooking Florence and away from the crowds. Loved that the local bus stop was just outside the hotel…a 20:minute ride straight to San Marco.
Nice location outside Florence, on a hill with views of Fiesole. Nice and cool in the evening, great parking, friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant was excellent!
