What a beautiful location. Stephania and her mother were exceptional hosts and were thoughtful to provide anything they could to make my stay better. The breakfast was amazing and the value of the stay was beyond my expectations. I hope to visit again and bring others.

A truly grand hotel! A beautiful, grand hotel in a great location with views across the lake. The staff are very helpful, the rooms spacious and the decor magnificent. The spa is very impressive with a good variety of treatments and excellent facilities.

Everything was open even though very little of the hotel was being used. We would have been disappointed if we could not have accessed everything, however we were treated very well
Enjoy marvelous views of the Borromean Islands from Villa Ruscello: a cozy 2-star family-run hotel set on the coast of Lake Maggiore.

The unobstructed view from our balcony out across the southwestern end of Lake Maggiore was beautiful. We also enjoyed the breakfast of fresh pastries and other European fare. Natalino, who co-owns this historic family villa with his brother, was such an interesting person who seemed to take delight in sharing with me (in English) the history of the Villa pre–WW I, the tragic role it played in WW ll, and how his family eventually became the owners of it. Our conversation was a highlight, along with the stunning lake view, of our visit here.

The breakfast was ok, kind of commercial goods, but very decent. Decaf was excellent, facilities were great with the view to the courtyard. The rooms were older and the bedding was ok but not fantastic. Pillows were comfy, the bed was a bit stiff. Apart from that, super nice staff, parking for $10 extra, location is ideal for the center of town, and they had a bar at night that we didn't use but seemed cool. They also have a restaurant that we didn't use.
Set on the shores of Lake Maggiore, Villa e Palazzo Aminta offers a luxurious wellness center, a private garden on the lake, and an outdoor heated swimming pool overlooking the Borromean Islands.

The setting and grounds are absolutely gorgeous --wonderful place to take pictures of Lake Maggiore. The facilities are spotlessly clean and nice. When we were there it seemed like all of the other guests were on bus tours, so it felt like we were the only ones in the hotel during the day.

We booked a week vacation for our small family (two adults, a 10-year-old child, and a small dog), mainly with the intent of spending the time hiking in the mountains, and relaxing in nature. Miazzina was absolutely perfect for this!
Our favorite hike was to Runchio - a tiny village accessible only by foot, a short hike through the picturesque mountains from Miazzina. The paths were well-maintained and, despite our relative inexperience with mountain hiking, easy enough for our family. The view of Lago Maggiore from the observation point at Runchio is magnificent and highly recommended!
From Miazzina, you can also take a very short drive down the mountain to Verbania, where you can walk along Lago Maggiore (with spectacular lake and mountain views!), visit Villa Taranto botanical gardens, take a ferry to the Borromean islands (with yet another botanical garden). We've already booked our next stay, so we can do a few more things we missed on our trip!
