Very Roman resort, popular place for city folk to escape the summer heat. Small friendly town, probably not more than a dozen restaurants but good food shops. No night life when we were there but we went for 3 days R&R after full on sightseeing in Rome, so not a problem for us. Beach sandy and well served with (expensive) umbrellas. Castle at one end of beach worth a visit. BUT we were lucky with timings (3rd week in June and last week of Italian school exams). Our host says it's very busy to the point of crowded in July and August.
