Sangiorgio Resort & Spa, hotel in Soleto

Sangiorgio Resort is set in a restored convent surrounded by olive groves, 9.3 mi outside of Gallipoli. It offers free parking, and an outdoor hot tub with free parasols and sun loungers.

We went here to chill out in Italy after a bike tour. We wanted a spa, pool and quiet atmosphere. The grounds are absolutely beautiful - so many pools, flowers, comfy outdoor seating areas. The indoor spa exceeded all expectations. It was one of those sensorial pathways with 6-7 stations, including a beautiful mosaic heated pool. I had a massage that was EXCELLENT. Staff were generally delightful and the works of Giovanni Rosso, artist, were on display. The hotel arranged for us to visit his workshop - it was delightful! The place is serene. We had a Junior Suite with a terrace and jacuzzi. The room was recently renovated, clean with all the amenities and lovely art work on the walls.

Tiny charming village where you can go back in time.

Tiny charming village where you can go back in time. Very few tourists and virtually no night life but if you are after some action (we were not) it is a short drive from bigger cities including beautiful and busy Lecce. We really enjoyed going for a late afternoon walk on the narrow and charming streets, greeting the occasional neighbour.
