This is a very authentic Japanese experience! Highly recommend it. The property is Japanese style and the owner was a great host - she prepared dinner and breakfast for us, and it was unique… She’s also super sweet and kind.
If you’re only staying one night, I would recommend to plan ahead your arrival (it’s 3 hours away from Tokyo) to make sure you’re able to enjoy a nice hike on the afternoon, as you won’t be able to do a lot during the morning of the check-out.
Nobori enjoys a location in Ome, 26 miles from Mount Takao and 27 miles from Fuchu Park. The 2-star ryokan is 25 miles from Tamarokuto Science Center.

I liked that it was isolated from busy city Tokyo and that it was super close to nature and the mountain. The hospitality of the host was unmatched, the food dishes were delicious and hearty. I saw a tanuki the first day of the trip. It was an amazing day even when it’s rainy, because you can stay inside and relax.

Tetsuji and Yoko were amazing hosts! They were the kindest couple! The sleeping rooms were beautiful with tatami mat floors and rice paper screens. We went in the winter, so it was a bit cold, but the room comes with a kotatsu table (low table with a built in heater and blanket) and it was amazingly cozy. The view from the room is also incredible, overlooking a ravine with a rushing river.
In the morning the made us a delicious breakfast of rice, soup, salted fish, mountain yam and an assortment of other goodies for only ¥1000! They have cats on premise, fyi if you’re allergic, they were only with us at breakfast (obviously not in our rooms) but they are such sweet kitties!
From Tersuji and Yoko, to the cozy vibes, to the attentiveness and care - It was like being taken care of by my own grandparents!
Otsu Nature Garden provides accommodations in Akiruno. Among the various facilities of this property are a garden and a terrace. A tour desk can provide information on the area.

Ken-san was fantastic. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect when making this booking, but it really exceeded expectations. We didn't take advantage of all of the available amenities (projector screen, barbeque, extra tatami room) but everything we did take advantage of was great. The bathtub was very nice, as was the TV (we're not really TV watchers but we probably logged about eight hours on that thing).
Big thanks to Ken for the help he gave, and the extra things he provided to us during our two-night stay.
