Kutchan is a lovely city with friendly locals and widespread English proficiency, making communication easy. There are plenty of options for renting or purchasing snowboard gear, which is convenient for enthusiasts. Overall, I will definitely return to Kutchan.

The hotel shuttle to the mountains were awesome, just wish I knew about the one to and from the train before arrival as we caught the local bus, the hotel shuttle would have made it much easier. Overall loved the stay. I will definitely stay at Torifito hotels more often

There are many nice restaurants around the area. The room is clean and tidy, and spacious enough even for family of three like us (Two adults and One child). They also have free fans to use in case the room isn't cool enough for you. also a plus they have a restaurant inhouse for breakfast and dinner. Onsen is a super plus!

It’s still a walk down a couple of traffic lights to get there in the snow so plan to take smaller luggage or just carry backpacks. This is an unmanned hotel, instructions needs to be followed to ensure a smooth check-in. The staff can be contacted over the phone at the front desk and they use a translator.
