My little villa was perfect for my intention to just relax. The amenities like the spa and bikes for rent added great value. The included breakfast is very filling. The beach is very quiet and beautiful. Airport shuttle is also included but not available after 1730.

Food was exquisite. Both the Japanese and Western breakfast options in particular were tasty and fresh. I especially liked the "local" nature of the food, from the pork to the seafood to the bakery items. It was really nice! The "beach BBQ" they offer was the highlight of our stay tho -- truly amazing. I also have to say that one of their managers, Koki Makiyama, went out of his way to make us feel special during our BBQ dinner. He even gave us a free bottle of champagne! Other staff like Alishikawa Natsuki, Wira, and Aqung Gunawan, all made our stay immensely enjoyable. And the beach? OMG don't get me started...stunning :-)

Wonderful island with tons of things to discover.
Mostly Japanese tourists. We went off season, so not crowded at all. Most things are in Japanese only and people only speak minimal English. We used Google translate a lot.

Traveling around was easy as roads are good, Sat Nav in rental car was a bit hit and miss
There different colors of the sea are a must to see and take pictures
We were very lucky had a BBQ at a popular beach and it happened to be a very good place to see a sunset that evening

The center city is not very lively or pretty.
The center city is not very lively or pretty. The island is rather rural with lots of banana, tobacco, and sugar cane plots. However, the suburb areas near the beaches are beautiful. I would recommend a resort as the available activities are limited to outdoors and dining. A car is required to get around. Unsure if there is any nightlife in the area.

Wonderful and beautiful place, the color of the sea amazing, many interesting sites to visit BUT you NEED a car (to rent a car). The public transportation is almost non existent (there is a bus to the airport). The island is too big for the bicycle, and too hilly.

During Golden Week, you must book an Izakaya for dinner ahead of time. If you try to walk into a restaurant, they will be fully booked or not let you in. Some of the locals seemed to discriminate against foreigners but not other Japanese tourists.

It’s a magical island and I didn’t see as much as I wanted due to a 4 day typhoon where we needed to stay inside…typhoons are common but not this long! But the accommodation was very flexible and offered extra nights at reduced cost
I’ll be back to complete my sightseeing outside of typhoon season!
The hotel was in a central location to restaurants, bars, and shops. It’s a far walk to the beach. The restaurants claimed to be full, so make reservations before going.
Definitely rent a car to be able to explore the island and the connected islands.
The hotel is modern, clean, and comfortable. The rooms are a very nice size. The breakfasts were fine, Japanese style.
The room was very spacious and we had enough dishes and utensils to eat and cook for ourselves without any hassle. There was free tea and burnt coffee available in the lobby next to the front desk. We are from California, and the hotel did feel a bit like home, so I guess it's somewhat authentic. There's Blue Seal ice cream for sale next to the front desk.
Extremely helpful staff, helped us find the bus to take us to further airport and picked us up last minute in a van from the airport, and was able to email them and arrange a room when booking.com said “sold out” - even honored our price from booking.com when i asked about it. beautiful beach, beautiful hotel
Amazing experience! Peace and relax everywhere. We spent a part of our honeymoon and was better than I could imagine! All the people who work in the Rescape, was so so kind and polite with us! The island’s lands and beaches are a beautiful paradise. We hope we can come back soon! Kisses from Spain!
I liked the lobby, pool, breakfast area. I can definitely recommend the lunch that the hotel offers! It was delicious and more than reasonable price. I want that mango smoothie so badly😄 If you got a car there’s no problem with the location, btw there’s shuttle buses to airport, that helps a lot.
The hotel is located in a fairly quiet but accessible area, and is instantly recognizable by how it is painted. Rooms are on the upper floor, the lower floor serves as a café/restaurant. A good sized breakfast is served to travelers staying here at a discount. Bed was comfortable.
It's like you're actually living in downtown Hirara. Supermarket and convenience stores are nearby, and if you drive or cycle, so are the beaches and sightseeing spots. The apartment is clean, comfortable, and I saved money by cooking some meals. Great place for workation.
location, spacious parking lot, and beach view. I chose this after I stay at the same hotel in Ishigaki. very homey. I could do the laundry after diving. location-wise, very close to Irabu island. love the room layout (305) - spacious, living room, working station.
I liked everything about this great hotel, the wonderful owners who went out of their way to look after me, the well appointed room and range of amenities and facilities. The location was excellent too and there was free on-site parking and bicycles .
We had a fantastic ocean view from our room. We had the room at the Santa Monica Sunset with balcony overlooking the ocean. The hotel staff were very friendly.
The breakfast was fantastic!
A 3 star hotel but with service of a 5 star hotel.
A lovely location in the less busy part of the island near some great beaches. If you don't have a car like us, there are bikes to use free and a bus nearby. The guesthouse is very welcoming and the host is very kind and helpful.
The owner and staff (and the guests during my stay) were super kind and open. Even if your japanese isn't that good, they try to welcome you and make you feel nice during your stay.
There is also a really cute black cat.
Amazing buildings and rooms!
When my Japanese cell phone could not connect to local cell service the front desk helped call for taxis and reservations.
Very helpful and very cheerful staff!
We walked to eat dinner from this hotel. and it is good easy to find it. Also we was able to watch the sunset from the balcony. The breakfast was delicious and I loved the library space.
Mr Kinjo is a good chain of hotels in Okinawa. Very simple and basic but offers a good value for money and they have a lot of locations so it is easy to find and available room.
Masaski is so nice and so helpful. We had a great stay at his guest house. Very clean and well furnished place.
Definitely recommanded for having good time in Miyako island.
