I recently had the opportunity to spend some time at the Visitors Camp and it was a truly unique and special experience. The camp is located in the heart of the desert near breathtaking sand dunes, and the isolated location provided a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
The Visitors Camp offered comfortable and well-maintained tents for sleeping, and I was pleasantly surprised by the amenities provided. Each tent was equipped with comfortable sleeping gear, and the camp provided a central area for cooking and dining. I appreciated the campfire area for the cool evenings, where I was able to socialize with other campers and enjoy the warmth of the fire.
One of the highlights of my stay at the Visitors Camp was exploring the stunning sand dunes. The camp staff were knowledgeable and provided great advice on the best spots for dune bashing and sandboarding. The sunset over the dunes was an unforgettable experience and a sight I will never forget.
Chez le Pacha is on a 3-hectares parkland, located in Palm Grove in M'hamid El Ghizlane, close access from Zagora. It offers an outdoor pool with a furnished terrace.
Dar Azawad is drowned amid the palm groves and just 1312 feet from the dunes.

we arrived late at night and the hotel staff met us at the gate to welcome us. they quickly loaded our luggage and brought us to our room. they also kept the restaurant open late for us and had prepared a delicious feast for our dinner. The staff went above and beyond in every way to ensure our comfort. Our room was clean, spacious, safe, and comfortable. We were heading out into the Sahara Desert the next morning for an overnight stay and the hotel staff let us keep our car at the hotel and let us keep our extra belongings in our room. They also encouraged us to use the gorgeous pool and go back to our room after the desert for a nice hot shower. We highly recommend this friendly and beautiful hotel for their warm and exceptional service. We felt like welcome family with their gracious hospitality.

I spent two days at Dar Sahara, and I wish I could have stayed for two weeks! As a solo female traveler, Mbarek made me feel safe and well taken care of in this remote location. He picked me up from the bus station, prepared a Berber omelette upon my late-night arrival, and organized an excursion that perfectly fit my schedule. The rooms are beautifully furnished, the grounds have comfortable lounge spaces, and the overall atmosphere is magical. Mbarek's calming presence adds to the joy of the experience. Exploring the lodging area reveals beautiful structures and breathtaking sunsets over dinner. If I return to this part of the world, I'll prioritize booking one of Dar Sahara's camping or trek excursions. The attention to detail in every aspect exceeded my expectations!
Immersed in the palm grove of M’Hamid, the family-run Auberge la Palmeraie offers traditional accommodations in tents and rooms and traditional breakfast daily.

Great locale, wonderful staff who came and met me at the CTM BUS station so I wouldn't have to find the place on my own at night.
Super warm and sincere welcome. Tea, conversation and music followed.
Room was great- clean, comfy spacious.
Shared bathroom was clean and well organized.
Nice little table just outside of my guest house was perfect spot for breakfast the next day, which was delicious.
Great option for a very authentic trek into desert but I had made other plans or I would definitely gone for the six day option. Spoke to a woman who had returned that day and she was just raving about the experience, how private and removed the trek was from town and how wonderful Mohammed was during the entire trip. She also said it was the best food shed had her entire time I'm Morocco.
Featuring river views, Camp desert nomad tour in Mhamid offers accommodations and a garden. This bed and breakfast features free private parking and a shared kitchen.

The camp is outside of town on the edge of the desert. All the little tent/cabins are originally painted. The place is very charming, and the hosts went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. They took us on an extensive tour of the desert and dunes and never seemed rushed. I would love to go back in another season.
Set within the sand dunes, Desert Bivouac Mhamid is located in the village of Mhamid El Ghizlane, 4.3 mi from the center. It offers traditional, nomadic tents and seating areas.

A busy village with normal Moroccan/Desert life and passing tourists.
Only a few tourists stay overnight. Limited number of restaurants. People are very friendly and welcoming.
The whole village can be walked in 40 minutes. We had food at AZWAD which was nice.
The tourist shops are typical of Morocco but not too pushy.

This small town is the entrance to the Sahara desert, so it’s an advantage for those who come for the trekking or the desert tours. The disadvantage is the sandstorm that hits directly the houses and streets of the town.
Nevertheless the people in the town are cheerful and friendly, they welcome the visitors with lovely smile
The town is rather new to the local people, a few km away from the town, the vast oasis spread in which embraces several Ksars with ancient earth and cray buildings. One can explore those ksars, meet the people in the communities, that is a precious experience apart from the camel rides or trekking in the desert.

M'Hamid is the perfect gateway to the Sahara Desert.
M'Hamid is the perfect gateway to the Sahara Desert. The village exudes a peaceful atmosphere, and the locals are incredibly welcoming. We used M'Hamid as our starting point for an unforgettable desert adventure. The camel trek into the dunes and the night under the starry sky were simply magical. M'Hamid is a hidden gem worth exploring!

Perfect place to start your trip into the Sahara desert.
Perfect place to start your trip into the Sahara desert. We went to the Chegaga dunes, 60 km by 4x4 on dirt tracks. There are several bedouin camps you can book for an unforgettable overnight stay. We booked with Chegaga berber camp. We highly recommend them.
The return trip was 90€ (900 dirham) and well worth it.

Very nice and calm village with simple people.
Very nice and calm village with simple people. Village is big oasis what makes it very beautiful with river Draa, kasbahs and palms. There are many shops, beautiful mosque and the desert around, from where you can start your track.
Mhamid you can look by your feet. But for go to desert better take a camel. You can take 4#4 but this will not give you feeling like you are Bedouin one :-).
This is a great little find 10 mins walk south of Mhamid. The location is great. Away from the noise and dust of the town and set in a beautiful garden. Hamza was a super nice guy who made us a good breakfast even though we were past the breakfast time. It's a great place for people who want a bit of peace and quiet or for a big group as you can hang out in the gardens or rooftops of the place. Hot showers, a nice communal room upstairs. We couldn't believe we were the only people staying here.
Staying two nights with Younas, Hamid and Rasheed was easily the shining highlight of our three week trip to Morocco. These wise, young, generous men couldn’t have done anything more to warm our hearts, enrich our experience or increase our comfort. They went above and beyond in every way, we absolutely adored them, the accommodation and the magic of their dunes, camels, food, etc. Highly recommend - if we ever make it back, we would love to see them and stay with them again!!
The location next to the dunes and a “palmeraie” was very nice. Even though the hotel is under renovation, profiting from the few guests that arrive during the summer to this part of the country, the manager made everything in his hands to make our stay as good, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. Dinner was very well prepared and abundant. The bungalows decor has a good mix of modern and traditional styles. Once the renovations are over, the hotel will look great!
I would recommend this camp to everyone. The tents are very nice, they have their own toilet and shower. It was very luxurious. Furthermore the service was great. We were picked up from cafe le petit prince en dropped off the next day. You can book severel things via the camp like a camel and 4x4tour to erg chegaga desert. In the evening we got a delicious dinner and enjoyed traditional Moroccon music by the campfire. 10/10 would recommend
In June, we had the most amazing experience. We were first a little hesitant about the booking procedure while we worked through the payment, but it turned out that our initial concerns were unfounded because everything about our trip was excellent. Even with the long journey, our guide was entertaining and kept the mood light. The lodgings were excellent. Overall, it was the ideal way to experience Morocco Desert.
Omar's place was a perfect oasis of calm for our trip into Erg Chegaga. Omar was very welcoming and hospital and he organised a great desert tour for us- their camp really does have the best spot, away from the crowds and by the biggest dunes. We also had (surprisingly considering we were in the desert) some of the best food we have had in Morocco. We would highly recommend this as a place to stay.
When we arrived to mhamid on the bus we meet yahya
After that he took us to his riad where we had a delecios and fantastic dinner in the next day he organized for us Excursion to Erg Chegaga where we see wonderful places and landscapes and we discovered nomad's Life and after that we had sunset on the top of Duns and we spend a lovely night on the camp
We hop to go back to soon
Yahya was great
Tent equipped with all the comforts of a hotel room (except for the power socket).
The service is rather comfortable, with the jeep picking you up directly in the parking lot of a Kasbah with which we have an agreement.
Magical nocturnal silence and breathtaking landscapes.
Food served in the evening good, if not exceptional; interesting the music show in front of the fire after dinner!
Everything beautiful that you can imagine about the desert in Morocco!! The shops, the food, the attention, all 10 points! The dunes are golden, the stars are many more and the dromedaries are docile and tender... A special word for Mohamed, who solves all problems and knows how to speak Argentine, like "cameYo" or "Yuvia"... Don't miss it the memory is forever...
My friends and I stayed for one night in this Mhamid luxury camp. My only regret was not stastaying two. From the time we got on our dromedaries and were escorted to the camp to our farewell dunes ride back we were amazed. So beautiful, peaceful and FUN!!!! We enjoyed every moment. Thanks to Omar and crew for making our stay unforgettable!!!!
i had a great time in Darb yaya of M'hamid.i spent a night here as a part of 10 days in Morocco. I really enjoyed the amazing landscape and took nice photos at the sunset time. I highly recommend spending one night here! Dar yaya desert tour really amazing thanks for the owner Yaya and his friendly staff
Our stay was awesome! The staff was very flexible with our itinerary and they accommodated us to our every need! Breakfast was awesome, it had so much good food and all the Moroccan classics. If you want to visit Mhamid and have an amazing night among the dunes, definitely book your stay here!
Desert feeling but accessible with a car (we’re traveling with a 9m baby so it was a great solution). We met Mohammad in MHamid village and followed him to the camp with our car for a few minutes. The huts are very cute, and warm at night. The food was amazing! We wished we could stay longer
As we are travel operator we can say the guest house is small piece of heaven, very clean and friendly staff Ali tike good care of our guest they also enjoy some activities Camel ride and day trip to erg chegaga. If you are going to visit Mhamid we recommend you Dar Nomads 🙂🐪
awesome place. the best of Morocco. in the heart of desert. people there are amazingly friendly and I should say magic. chef’s dinner was delicious of what I ever had in my life. stars in the night.. they played bombo for us and with us. wanna stay here. kisses, abrazos;)
We had a great time in Camp Auberge Sahara Marokko. It was clean, the food was amazing and the location is charming. All the people we met there were really kind, friendly and helpful. We reccomend this place, IT was 11/10. Hope to come back one day :)
Stunning
Remote
Beautiful and unique
1.5 hr in 4x4 from Mhamid - worth the drive
Very windy when we were there but fun playing cards in the main tent
Delicious food and tea
Very welcoming
Sunrise and Sunset - stunning
Camel ride - great fun
The hotel is okay but nothing special. We got a free room upgrade because we were the only ones. That was really nice. For one night before or after a desert tour it is okay. We could park there our car for free during our desert trip.
I live in Morocco , I visited many deserts, so I always look for authenticity whenever traveling.
And this is what I found in Larbi’s place. It has been a great experience which will stay in my best memories of Morocco.
Thanks Larbi!
