The host is very friendly, the room is just fine, there is also a fridge in your room. The beach is very close. Basically it is in your “garden”. All in all we enjoyed our stay a lot.
Featuring a garden and free WiFi, Cabañas Cinco Elementos is located in Celestún, 300 metres from Celestun Beach and 14 km from Parque Natural Rio Celestun.

Reonaldo was such an amazing host! He was so helpful and accommodating, making sure that we had everything that we needed. He even drove us to the bus station on our last day when we were having issues getting a taxi and were close to missing our bus.
The Cabaña was comfortable and clean. We had use of a fridge and facilities in the shared kitchen/bar. The beach was just across the road and was totally deserted - we felt like we were the only ones there! The Cabañas are a little bit of out the main town, but we had free use of bikes to get around. Celestún is such a beautiful and friendly little town. Definitely our favourite place during our trip. Make sure that you go on the mangroves boat tour - Alex was a wonderful guide!

We got great care and service from Roberto and his crew from the moment we arrived. Mostly Spanish is spoken aside from Roberto. Everybody was helpful and friendly. The cabana is more like a well done studio apartment. Very spacious and clean. The sheets were smooth and good quality (hard to find, even at a 5 star place in Mexico)!
The cleaner came 4 of 5 days, and we left around 50 pesos ($3.00 USD) a day for her. Plan to bring smaller bills to tip. She left more coffee, towels, took out garbage (because remember, no toilet paper goes into the toilet), and cleaned the floors etc...
Of the four cabanas facing the sea, this is the only one that is restored post hurricanes. The others appear to be uninhabitable. It did appear as though we were the only guests staying, on the rather large property. Luckily there was an attendant/front desk person there 10 hours a day. Apparently there are rooms available in the three story building that also faces the ocean. Since the village is known to be safe, I wasn't scared, and felt quiet comfortable.
There is a working air conditioning unit which was helpful when it was too smokey to leave the windows open.
The beach is gorgeous, there is a palapa for shade and a couple of chaise loungers. Next door is The Posedian Restaurant and pool (didn't seem to be in working order) for your use as well.
It's a 5-7 minutes walk south to the town's public beach where there are vendors selling clothes and souvenirs and many restaurants. It's also an easy walk to the town square to go to the grocery etc... If needed you can always get a mototaxi for a ride as well.
Our party of five agreed, that this is one of the nicest places in town (we saw three others). Here's to the lovely place Roberto has made for guests coming to enjoy Celestun for a few days!

The beach club was very nice. The staff was friendly and overall we had a great experience. We booked a full body massage and it was private in our room. The beach itself is very nice. The drinks and food are bit expensive.

Fly to Mérida International Airport, 92km from Celestún. From Mérida, take a direct bus (2.5 hours) or drive (1.5 hours) west to Celestún. For domestic travellers, direct buses from Cancun (5 hours) are available.
The most convenient airport for both domestic and international travellers is Mérida International Airport, due to its proximity and flight options. It's approximately 90 kilometres from Celestún.
Celestún, Mexico, is best navigated by local taxis or colectivos (shared taxis), which are readily available. For short distances, walking is a viable option. Cycling is less common due to the town's sandy streets. Car hire is available, but not necessary due to the town's compact size. Always confirm fares before travelling.
The best area to stay in Celestún, Mexico, is the town centre. It offers convenient access to local attractions like the Ría Celestún Biosphere Reserve, eateries, and shops. It's also close to the beach, making it ideal for visitors.
Celestún, Mexico enjoys a tropical climate with a year-round warm temperature. The average temperature ranges from 22°C to 28°C. There are no distinct summer and winter seasons. However, the region experiences a wet season from June to October, with August being the wettest month. The dry season spans from November to May. I'm a birder, so experiencing the boat trip to see the Amerian Flamingos was unforgettable for me (and all the other birds of the Celestun area!!!) Also, Celestun faces west across the Gulf of Mexico, so the sunsets are beautiful. The town is an amazing cultural experience too. The people are wonderful. The LONG stretch of beach is quiet and clean. Motor taxis are everywhere if you don't have a car. See David at the coffee shop Casa Bacab for remarkable guided birding.

Celestun is not a pretty town, but its proximity to the mangroves and flamingos makes it special. (It's a Unesco site.) The beachside restaurants offer great seafood (coconut shrimp! ceviche!) and the prices are pretty good. Since they close down at nightfall, there are some good options in town around the main square. We didn't do a tour of the mangroves, since we had done that a few years ago, but that and seeing the flamingos are very popular activities. The beach is popular with lots of shells along the shore, and a lovely sandy bottom when you're in the water. We aren't big 'beach people' but we really enjoyed our stay and will come back again, I'm sure. We took a bus from Merida (very inexpensive at 68 pesos each way per person) -- lots of stops along the way, but the other alternatives are a rental car or a tour. This worked for us!

For birdwatching: Guardians de Los Manglares de Dzinintun.
For birdwatching: Guardians de Los Manglares de Dzinintun. We did the kayak tour and our guide Zac really enhanced our experience. When we spent the rest of the day on the beach, we could identify almost every bird we saw.
Get a big meal at one of the beachside restaurants around 3ish (my favorite was La Palapa), and then a small meal of tacos or tortas in the town square around 8.
It's important to know that the beaches are full of shells. A pro for some travelers and a con for others.

This place is paradise .
This place is paradise . It’s under developed yes but that’s part of its charm.
Wish there were a bit more facilities and better hotels around but at the same time nothing to fancy or big developments because it’s a conservation area so it really should be cared for and treated properly and with respect.
The nature there is outstanding . More of the right eco friendly investment in the area would make it a superb destination.
The flamingos and sunset are like nothing else I have seen before.

Celestun is a real Mexican town with mercado and cute main plaza ...some very nice restaurants on the sand at beach side, rather like being at a party! .EXCELLENT SEAFOOD ..There are pockets of rather dire poverty on the outskirts of town on the way to the Flamingo Preserve ...which you should do ....you can pay a moto taxi 100 pesos to take you out there, its a Gulf beach so that means little waves , so don't expect crashing surf! also fishing boats anchor in the same area as swimmers ,but no bother...great shelling and just strolling beach...water is not Caribbean crystal clear , but pleasant enough.... great safe beach for kids ...this what Acapulco must have been like a very long time ago!
This is a charming little hotel right on the beach. I booked one night but decided to stay 2 because I liked it. The beds were a little firm for my liking, and the pillows too soft, but all in all it was very comfortable and delightfully clean. It seems as though the rooms were recently renovated as the bathroom was modern and the floors looked new. It's in good shape.
Arturo, the manager, was very friendly and always around. I liked it and will recommend this charming place.
One night stay in March. Nice large villa with rooms. We had two rooms with balconies overlooking the sea. Rooms were large with good facilities. There was secure car parking for our hire car. Very limited choice of accommodation in the local area and this was a good option. A short drive to see the Celestun pink flamingos and great to get there early for an early visit from which we then drove south to Campeche for our next night stay.
The location right on the beautiful beach of Celestun is absolutely amazing! The rooms and actually the whole establishment (rooftop terrace, balcony’s, patio’s, garden, swimming pool, beach lounge) are all very much on point and also tastefully decorated. The host, Nicolas, is very helpful in making your stay as comfortable as possible. I would definitely recommend this charming beach escape for anyone visiting gorgeous Celestun!
Casa Celeste Vida was absolutely wonderful. If you are ever in Celestun, this is a must stay.
Wanda was so caring, and took great care of us !
Everything is perfect and well organised, everything is done for you so you have the best time ever !
The proprety is beautiful, and has everything you need, bikes, paddles, sun chairs, and you are right at the beach !
We had a great time, and we already want to go back
It is a nice, spacious property, very secure and comfortable. Great little restaurant for breakfast with good coffee and food. The rooms are big and comfortable. The amenities are good, as advertised. Good wifi and decent TV, especially considering the remote location of Celestun. The family is very nice and professional. Used my credit card when I didn't have cash, which is a bonus in a remote place.
Breakfast was very traditional for this area of Yucatan Mexico. We ordered Chilaquiles and it was to saucy for what i am use to but i ate it all the same (did not order again). We normally don't have breakfast but tried the kitchen so that we could see what to expect. It was busy every morning and very convenient to have on site, so overall a plus to the hotel.
The hotel is in a great location on the beach on the north side of the pier, which is a very quiet and relaxed area of Celestun. The rooms are new, very clean, great lighting and nice decor, comfy beds, outside area for coffee and socializing and chairs/swings on the beach! Walking distance to everything in the beach area of town and downtown.
Very nice and new Cabañas that bring you a more authentic way of living with enough comfort. The owner, Reonaldo, is very helpful what to do in and around Celestun and has great recommendations off the beaten track. You can rent bikes without any additional cost. He speaks Spanish, English and Italian perfectly. Would definitely stay again!
A friendly place with a nice and calm location in Celestún a few blocks from the beach and the bus terminal. Very good breakfast options. Most people go to Celestún to see the thousands of pink flamingos, and we agree, that is the USP.
A bit of a walk from the beach and park but very quiet and clean. The host and staff are very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast at the on site restaurant. Would stay here again
Very comfortable, clean, good WiFi and TV with YouTube (although we couldn't get netflix as no one had logged on). Staff were very friendly. Hotel is close to beach and bus station.
Beautiful pool, lovely room with comfortable beds. Oberto was very friendly. Easily walk along beach to restaurants. Close to nature preserve. Wish we had stayed longer.
The ambience of the hotel was lovely. There is a little supermarket across the street. The room was quite big and had a fridge. Which was nice in the hot weather.
