It is an active town surrounded by the very well kept and high yielding paddy fields (best in the peninsula), the shores of the Straits of Malacca, and active fishing vessels and fish product villages. Unfortunately the town is quite dead by about 9pm except for some restaurants.

A quaint small town with beautiful views of paddy fields that is not terribly far from KL which I would love to explore further one day. Heard the food is good too, but haven't had the chance to explore much.

We took a weekend trip to Sekinchan. Has plenty of beautiful scenery, many seafood restaurants and quite a few tourist spots all within very short distances. Pantai Redang, Ah-Ma House, Mango King, Paddy gallery are few of the places worth a visit. A good place for a weekend getaway.

Sekinchan is a small town so it is perfect for a short weekend getaway. It is not too far away from Tanjung Karang where you can visit the river bank and buy cheap seafood from the fishermen before heading back to the city. Since Sekinchan is near to the river, the seafood is also relatively cheaper and fresher. The fishball is a must-try in Sekinchan, it is bouncy, fresh and delicious. You can either buy the fishballs at Sekinchan or Kuala Selangor before heading back to the city. Fishballs and processed seafood are not available in Tanjung Karang.

Sekinchan wet market offer the cheapest fresh fish if we wanna stock them out to bring back home, much cheaper than the popular Pasar Pasir Penambang. Offering nice view of both the seaside and padi field. We bought lots of crab, prawns, cockels, kerang, siput and just boil them with salt, the taste were so good since they were fresh.

The top attractions is closed to each other hence you wont waste so much time on the road. Took a nice photos at the paddy fun, chills at the coconut farm, and had a good dinner at abah bonda ikan bakar. Please try mentarang bakar while you’re in sekinchan.
