A nice town with a charming atmosphere. Friendly and relaxing. Still modern and functional. It is our favorite stop on our way to England. Het Weeshuis is highly recommended as a nice place to stay. The combination of spacious rooms, friendly staff and perfect outdoor area is a rare combination. Wonderful place to stay.
Wonderful place to stay. Love that the room had a separate lounge area and great terrace and views over the garden. The beds were so comfortable. The 24 hour coffee/tea and honor snack bar was really convenient and nice. Bolsward is a lovely town and very walkable.. The on site parking is great. Bolsward is a very pretty town and an ideal place for...
Bolsward is a very pretty town and an ideal place for exploring Friesland. It is well located for getting around. We travelled from Ijmuiden (off the ferry from Newcastle) to Bolsward, stopping by the coastal area and up towards Den Helder. Harlingen was our favourite place to visit. We enjoyed a delicious five course dinner at Brugman, only open on Friday and Saturday nights. There are plenty of other places to eat at in Bolsward. We would definitely recommend staying at Het Weehuis in Bolsward. It really is the perfect place to unwind.

It is a beautiful town, with a lot of history and museums.
It is a beautiful town, with a lot of history and museums. I also liked the architecture and atmosphere of Bolsward. Unfortunately it was really cold and raining hail so we did not see as much as we planned. So we plan on going back when it is spring or summer and stay a bit longer so we will have more time and better weather to walk thru the town.DaniëlleNetherlands - 10Scored 10

We were in Friesland to visit family and Bolsward is centrally located. the town center has lovely shops and comes alive in the evening with a number of small cafes offering a nice variety of food/beverage options in a more intimate setting. It is a historic town and reflects the canal history of the region with a lot to see and do within a 20 minute drive either direction. They have a newer distillery making really fine whiskeys - Fryske Hynder. Take a walk in their old cathedral - uniquely maintained after a fire. Several fine bakeries and specialty shops as well.BryanUnited States

Check-in and check-out are automatic, you do not meet anybody, everything is done through internet, you even use your phone to open the doors of the hotel and of the room. The room I stayed was big and nice.
