The hotel is next to the fast ferry so it is really easy to get here from Stavanger. Monika was very responsive to our messages, and arranged a taxi for us so we could start our ski tour. The hotel is simple and clean and comfortable. The self-service breakfast was excellent and we had everything that we wanted. Sand is a beautiful place, and our room had a lovely view of the fjord.

The host is very friendly and there is genuinely a pool table.
The only downfall is that the double bed is under a very low roof so a little crammed when sleeping.

We travelled with husband and baby. It's a wonderful and picturesque place, separate house with two bedrooms, kitchen with all equipment, and dining room. We had everything we need. Thank you, the hosts. We will be glad to come here again.

Wherever you go by car, nature leads you to stop and take a breath. There is a lot of driving around, but there is never the feeling of rushing. Ferries are rather expensive (next to everything else) - so inform yourself before you start your trip. But it's worth it. Soon a tunnel to Stavanger (starting in Jorpeland) will be opened - so this could be an even faster way to reach this place.
People are very friendly and helpful, no matter where you go to.
We were surprised to learn that Mid-August is end of season. So we were lucky to visit the Viking Museum and Village on its last day open.
