Short drive to Preikestolen. The bathrooms and cooking area were modern. The view of the fjord and the farm animals were very nice. Different experience from other places we stayed on our 2 week vacation.
These basic cottages are 35 minutes’ drive from Stavanger and 6.2 mi from the village of Tau. Each offers free Wi-Fi, a kitchenette and private bathroom. On-site laundry facilities are available.
This is not an easy place to get to. It is only accessable on foot or by boat. It is well worth the effort of you are looking for some amazing outdoor experiences and appreciate nature and all of its wonder.
I will be returning to this wonderful place again.

We had a rental car from Stavanger in order to see sights in Norway on our own timetable. We bought our ferry ticket to Fløyrli hostel and on to Lysebotn, keeping in mind the days it does not run. We landed at 2 pm and used the afternoon to see the compound and hike the Flørlineset Opp loop - about 3 hrs return with stops, lunch. Next day we did the 4444 steps up the maintenance stairway for spectacular views of the Lysefjord. Then on down the trail back to the hostel, stopping for lunch and enjoying the views. We took about 5 hours total and had cold beer at the restaurant before another great meal there. Next day we took the early ferry to hike to Kjerag. All worked out well for the timing. Hostel and staff are great - its a unique place, warmly recommended!
