A beautiful home! We were two of three guests and essentially had the run of the place. The third guest had been there for weeks; he was a total sweetheart and great conversationalist. The bed was SO comfortable and cozy that it was hard to get up and get on with our days. The shower was a good size. It was nice to be able to cook our own food, especially since we were in town in the off season and most everything was closed but the little market. We enjoyed being able to drive all over the place (traveling without a car would be possible but effortful) and the surrounding mountains and fjord are GORGEOUS and full of history. We liked the option to wind down with a movie in the evening. I really can’t express how lovely a stay we had - wish we could have been there far longer!

Room and bathroom had heated flooring and a heater we could adjust to fit our needs. Hostess heated up our room before our arrival. Fabulous breakfast! Try the brown cheese! It’s a special local delicacy created in Norway.
The best hotel that we stayed in Norway during our roadtrip. The lady at the reception was fantastic. The surroundings were like from a fairytale - an insanely green peaceful valley with a lake, river and a huge waterfall over our heads. The rooms were scandinavian-simple, quiet, clean, modern, renovated, comfortable. Breakfast excellent, restaurant exceptionally stylish and cozy.
The pictures this place uses on booking.com don't do it justice so I'll try to make it up with mine.
We arrived quite late in the evening after an adventurous and beautiful drive through Sognefjellet but that was no problem. Check-in was friendly. Room was quite spacious and bathroom as well. Both were clean. The beds were comfy and we got a good nights rest. Breakfast next morning was good and tasteful. Not too many options but more than enough for us.
Check-out was friendly as well. A great place to stay, especially close to Skjolden with beautiful view of Sognefjorden.
We were welcomed by the very friendly manager who showed us the place and our rooms, Very charming and historical old, yet refurbished, farmhouse overlooking the village and valley. We had access to a huge kitchen with everything needed to store food and prepare meals. If you cant be bothered to make your own meals its less than 5 minutes walk down to the Skjolden Hotel which has an amazing restaurant. Would absolutely recommend Eide Gaard.
I came here with a friend. We had a great stay, the guest house and rooms are charming, comfortable and clean. The house does not offer restaurant services but you can find a grocery store in the village and use the large and fully equipped kitchen or go to the nice restaurant of the hotel nearby.
There is also a sitting area on the balcony that has an amazing view. I definitely recommend this place.
Eide Gard exceeded all our expectations and even more! I can warmly recommend this place to anyone who plans to visit Skjolden! Both the house and the location are incredibly beautiful. Rooms were very comfortable and clean and the whole atmosphere was very welcoming. There was no breakfast included, but we could freely use the big kitchen and the dining hall downstairs.
Great location with spectacular views and a very warm welcome. Room was small but spotless with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Had fish and chips cooked by the english chef - excellent! Also the hotel has its own brewery with an interesting selection of beers on offer. Good hearty breakfast including a nordik take on the full english.
The Skjolden Hotel was the high point of my trip. I was passing through the area and stayed for three nights. I was immediately captivated by the view of the fjord, then stayed for the excellent food from the kitchen and the lovely staff. if I had the time I would have stayed for a week.
This hotel is a true treasure - not just because of the amazing location, but mostly because of the great staff. We only stayed one night, but felt so welcome, just as if we were their regular guests. Rooms are small, but clean and comfortable & with the most amazing view over fjord.
The terrace has an amazing view over the fjord. All the necessary utilities are there in the kitchen. Comfortable beds. Skjolden has a quite central location close to major sightseeings. It is very good value for the price.
The best thing about the hotel is of course the terraces and the view! Worth all the money in this world! You can just stay at the terrace, drink coffee and enjoy! Perfect stay!
Good choice of continental breakfast or Full English Breakfast. excellent quality of service at the Table and from Hotel Kitchen. Beautiful views in the Fjord.
