The room with its balcony and view were very welcome after our not-so-Magic hotel in Bergen. Bathroom worked well.
The breakfast was of excellent quality and range. Marcus, on the front desk, was new to the role, but he rose to the occasion and is a natural with customer service.
Excellent location for taking the ferry to visit the historic Orne Stavekirche

The cabins are just perfect! Our cabin was super clean and warm with a breathtaking view of the lake. There is also a small cabin filled with toys that my girls loved and spent the whole day playing there! The owner of the cabins was very polite and welcomed us with a smile! We loved it and hope to come back!

It is a very small place but ideal to visit Urnes stavechurch, a total must and very easy to reach with the ferry which connects Solvorn with the opposite side of the Lustrafjord (actually part of the Sogneford).

Not a lot to do here; town is small and has one very good cafe - plus the expensive Walaker Hote - for food and drink. Quick ferry to Ornes to view the stave church is free for walk-on passengers. There is a cafe near the church, but not much on offer there. Church grounds require a fee.

Summary: Nice, nice, nice.
Summary: Nice, nice, nice. Nice surroudings by the fjord and mountains. Walaker Hotel consist of nice old but well kept buildings equipped with quality furnitures etc, but also a new annex building with nice practical rooms facing towards a garden area with sea view.
Solvorn is a peaceful and picturesque little village, and as the name itself suggest it is located advantageously regarding utilization of sunshine. There is a little bathing beach there that is popular among the youth. From Solvorn one can take a short ferry trip across the fjord to visit the famous and unique little Urnes Stave Church built ca. 1140 - an UNESCO protected site.
My husband and I found the Walaker (and the village of Solvorn) to be a really special place. We had perfect weather for swimming at the beach, hiking up Molden for fjord views, and enjoying a glass of champagne in the hotel garden. Staff and food were excellent. The historic room had tons of charm. We only stayed one night but I could see spending a week to enjoy daily hikes, afternoon swims, and relaxing with a good book -- it's such a lovely, restful place!
Beautiful place with magic spirit. When you travelling to Norway you definitely must visit this hotel!! Unforgettable experience. Everything was perfect, the buildings, the gallery, the view and also breakfast - eggs benedict - delicious! We had a possibility to listen piano concert performed by the Owner Mr. Walaker - it was like in a dream.
Solvorn is a lovely place and the Villa Solvorn was in a great location, especially as we came by public transport. Breakfast was freshly prepared for us by a lovely French woman. Everything was very clean. Only one other couple staying when we were there and they were lovely too.
The staff is very welcoming and helpful. This is a plush hotel and our stay was most pleasant.
Mr Henrik Ole Nitter Walaker has a good sense of humour and is a very straightforward and efficient host.
All the staff were without flaws.
Extremely charming hotel full of history in a beautiful and quiet Fjord. Straight from a postcard!
Has been led by the same family for 300 years, amazing hosts. Breakfast is one of the best i’ve ever had! Such a memorable stay!
You feel special visiting it. Having to meet the true owners of the place and not only seeing how they make the place amazing but actually feeling it in every aspect of the hotel.
The Villa Solvorn was not only beautiful but perfect for our needs. We were treated well from the moment we arrived. Oscar, our host, was helpful and kind.
