This is the second time I have stayed at Ski Time. This time in the lodge.
Great staff.
So close to town - easy stroll to a number of other places to eat out - you don't have too - Ski time has great food.

Excellent location, close to the centre of Methven. Clean and tidy. Very spacious units, suitable for a large group (although we were only 3). Full kitchen with utensils, pots, etc. No grater, which would have been useful. Log fire was excellent. There is a heat pump but it struggled to heat the room in the winter.
Featuring a seasonal outdoor pool, Southern Cross Lodge Methven in Methven has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive.

Friendly and helpful staff, nice room, pool and hot tub!
Quiet setting. Friendly local store and library, with a book swapping facility. Easy access to great walking and sites of interest. Friendly staff and good quality meals available in the bistro. Not too far to get there but far enough to feel "away from it all".

This was a nostalgic visit for me as I lived on a farm near Mount Somers until I was 14. Revisiting childhood memories included driving up the Ashburton Gorge to Lake Camp, hiking to the Blackburn Coal Mine and to Dukes Knob (in lieu of the Sharplin Falls Track which is now closed), and enjoying the magnificent views of the foot hills, especially of Mt Somers itself.
