Lovely grounds, attentive staff, nice breakfast. The grounds are truly lovely and peaceful, with an opportunity to wander, hammock by the river, and relax. The room was huge and the bed comfortable.

Everything was amazing, from the exterior, which was what first caught my eye, to the interior, which is even more exuberant. The facilities too, although I did not have time to try the swimming pool. The shower was great too and there's even a yoga/meeting room, balconies, reading area, it's just sublime.

This Tierra Viva property is tucked away in a scenic and tranquil location about 15 minutes by road from Urubamba town. The views of the surrounding mountains and valley from practically anywhere on the property are spectacular, and the landscaping has been beautifully and naturally integrated. The rooms were typically elegant, spacious and comfortable like all Tierra Viva properties. The staff were absolutely wonderful - pleasant, kind, and attentive to all our needs and requests - and really made our stay exceptional. The in-house Suno restaurant had a wide variety of tasty options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the staff were excellent.

Maras is a very picturesque, small old town, but very run down. You get around by walking. Don't plan on finding upscale restaurants or any shopping beyond vary modest bodegas.
There are definitely more donkeys and oxen than cars wandering around.
The best place to eat was at Inkasal, in a very ugly new complex just outside of town.
