Very friendly host. Spacious room; in fact an entire appartment. The entire facility incl. the bathroom is wheelchair-accessible (not that we needed it, but it’s good to see that it was taken care of). Nice surroundings.

Loved staying at a renovated convent with so many unique features, including its own wonderful little chapel where we played our singing bowls. We were delighted by the copious and delicious breakfast spread which set us up well for the day. Staff were wonderfully warm and generous.
This location allows one to appreciate a quiet village-edge environment near Neolithic stone structures while being only a short drive to all the attractions of Evora where we enjoyed a memorable dinner.
Casa do Páteo in Vila Nova da Baronia provides accommodations with a garden and barbecue facilities. With garden views, this accommodation offers a swimming pool.

In fact we didn’t stay. We looked through the window and we left. Not only there was no view but there was a construction being made in front of the window at (what seemed) one meter away.
We felt walled.
The owner didn’t propose a reimbursement (she felt we were being too particular) and I didn’t want to argue.
Alcáçovas is a small but lovely village in central Alentejo.
Alcáçovas is a small but lovely village in central Alentejo.
It has everything you need for a small trip or even a longer more relaxing stay.
There are a handful of restaurants in the village and the public swimming pool is beautiful with an amazing view over the valley.
In this part of Alentejo, we like to go to enjoy some relaxing time. We take loads of books with us and just enjoy the silence.
We do recommend having a car to hop from place to place because there are plenty of spots worth a visit (restaurants, vineyards, etc)
