Overall, a wonderful stay. Great location, fantastic wifi, beautiful building and very friendly staff. The breakfast was great. Parking was easy for free across the street / down on the city walls, but they also had parking for a charge.

The hotel is very well located in the town, it has excellent parking and great views out over the surrounding countryside.
I found the staff were very helpful in where to go & visit and provided annotated directions on a local map.
During my visit the restaurant wasn't open but there are plenty off options in the town

Off the beaten path, on the far East side of Portugal (nearly on the Spanish border). Friendly and interesting people, and interesting history to explore through castles, forts and a marvelous aqueduct.

Lots to see, so make sure you have comfortable clothing and shoes.
Like most Portugeus towns, it is very hilly with narrow streets and lots of steps.
Architecture is stunning and historic with plenty of stories of old.
More vegetarian/vegan restaurants would be a bonus.
The whole Alentejo region is a must-see when visiting this beautiful country.

Elvas is an historic old city with an amazing Roman aqueduct. The local restaurants were not catering for tourists and hardly anyone spoke English. We ate in the hotel which was good value in a lovely setting. We visited the British cemetery for the soldiers of the Peninsular War. The old town is is all cobblestone alleys and we kept getting lost but that was part of its charm.

This is a cool fort town on the Spanish border worth visiting. Great for practicing my Spanish and Portuguese. The old town is walkable and worth a day. Get a number of a local taxi service to explore the other two forts nearby, pick up groceries etc. Plan ahead of taking a comboio or autoexpresso as it's in a pretty remote location so you can't just catch a train out every 30 minutes like you can in Lisbon.
The region it is in, the Alentejo is also generally quite beautiful and it's worth taking a bus to Estremoz and the Evora if in the area.

A great small restaurant recommended by the Hotel was Mercato, is a perfect place to dine. Excellent service and food cooked to order with a lot of attention to quality and flavours.
Everything was perfect! The guest house was beautiful and everything was clean. The room was nice and big, had a great bathroom and a small refrigerator, which came in handy. The bed was really comfortable and I loved how everything was cleaned everyday! The dining room and the rooftops of the guest house were a cool place to have breakfast. There was a coffee machine and free crackers for every guest. Last but not least, the staff is really nice and cared to know if everything was okay or if we needed anything.
Our evening meal was exceptional and cooked to order. One of the best meals we have had in Portugal. The owner described the hotel as her bit of Paradise. We would say the same applies for the guests. Sadly for us we used this hotel as an overnight stop. If we had not been on a tight timetable to catch our ferry we would have stayed longer. Breakfast also lived up to the same high standard. We hope to be able to revisit when we can spend longer in this haven.
The house and its sorroundings are charming. An old house converted into a hotel, the façade is original, decorated inside in accordance with the location and origin. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. If traveling in the summer, the pool is big and surrounded by beautiful trees. The owners were lovely and paid attention to every detail, 100% personalised service. The breakfast was served with good local products. Would definitely stay again.
I chose the guesthouse as a last minute addition to my journey as I really wanted to return to explore Elvas. The location is ideal as it sits within the city walls and offers the chance to stay within an authentic Portuguese townhouse. The room was more than adequate though I always prefer my own kettle and tea-making facilities in a room whereas the guesthouse offers this in a communal space. Really the location and cost were spot on.
Lovely place, lovely people. Elvas is a great town with old fashioned hospitality. The restaurants serve traditional Portuguese food in a traditional environment and are great value. The forts are fascinating and interpreted well. All said, you could come just to stay in this Alojamento. It's sparklingly clean, great facilities and shared spaces and very nicely furnished. A great breakfast and super helpful owners and staff
femouse place ,look like old palace(i think its old Military hospital) , around you can see ancient things like big walls (war between Spain and Portuguese) small shops arround there
very friendly and helpful receptionist (Daniela Santos ) ,she gave us valuable information , parking we found, out side behind the house , breakfast was not bad,
The host was here to welcome us and took the time to give us advice about the city and the places to visit, the restaurants, etc. It was very nice to chat with him. The apartment is ideally situated in the center in a beautiful small street, and the view from the terrace is wonderful. There were even a few things in the kitchen for us to cook.

What a GREAT place! Perfect location, super clean and Ricardo was wonderful! The Queen hasn’t been open too long, they spent 2 years remodeling a very old building, and it is beautiful! The rooms are huge and the bathrooms are fantastic! I only stayed one night, but I wish it could have been more. Highly recommend!
Nice 2 bedroom apartment, great air conditioning and wifi, great location to walk around Elvas, very friendly host once we found her, quiet at night (very noisy during the day with the laundry rooms next door).
Breakfast was great as was the location of the hotel. Staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. We decided to have dinner at the restaurant and the food and service was excellent!
Outstanding! Stunning oasis in the midst of Portugese countryside. A place to relax, unwind, and soak in the beauty of nature. Hosts are gracious and dining was superb!
architectural dream from 1930 … John and Sara were extremely helpful . would go back any time. breakfast is the best and dinner at jail house resto was spectacular.
Absolutely beautiful property in a restored and converted monastery. Impeccably designed and maintained. Friendly staff. Located in the charming village of Elvas.
The location and the surrounding nature.
The swimming pool in the hot days.
The night sky since the place is isolated and there is very little light polution.
