Great location. Easy access to the old town, boats to visit the islands and not too far for a drive to hike the Seven Hanging Valleys trail. We also enjoyed the Poke Quinoa bowl in the Hotel's restaurant one evening. Very good breakfast and we loved the piano player at that time in the morning.

I loved the heaters on the terrace to keep out the cold in the nights. I thought the breakfast was very good and the service was very good too.

Faro is the picturesque capital of the Algarve region, offering colourful streets and buildings, Moorish influence, and typical Portuguese charm. It is encompassed by the lagoon of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and offers wide beaches, a laid-back atmosphere, and a vibrant nightlife.
Occupied by Phoenicians and Carthaginians, and once an important Roman harbour and Moorish culture capital, it was almost flattened by the 1755 earthquake. Happily, the historic centre survived and is today one of best preserved in Algarve. Choosing a hotel in Faro’s Old Town will allow you to have a more authentic Portuguese experience.
The long, sandy beach of Praia de Faro is 7 km from the city, and the beach on Barreta Island –also known as Deserta - is probably the most tranquil in the region. Hotels near the beach in Faro and the surrounding towns of Olhão, Tavira, Quinta do Lago, Quarteira and Vilamoura, are all excellent ways to enjoy sunny Portugal.
Faro International Airport offers connections throughout Europe, and the city also offers ferry, railway, and bus links. Whether you need a beach resort or a hotel near Faro Airport, check out the wide offer available on Booking.com!

Beautiful sleepy little historical fishing town.
Beautiful sleepy little historical fishing town. Excellent for a quiet few days in the warm sun, wandering around its quaint narrow streets, enjoying shops, cafes and restaurants. Great beaches all nearby. Also less than half an hours' bus ride to the largest shopping centre/outlet village in the south of Portugal (Mar Shopping Centre), so there's something for everyone.

It's a lived-in, working city and doesn't pretend to put tourists at the forefront. However, tourists are well-catered for and I've spent a few happy days wandering the town on several occasions. Just wear sturdy shoes and have a little torch handy as the pavements/kerbs are no fun!

Lovely parts of this city near Marina, and while there seems to be lots of regeneration the city is quite run down in parts and a huge amount of graffiti. Lovely shopping streets and cafes, and a trip to both the Mar and Forum Algarve shopping centres a great way to spend a few hours. Nice restaurants in marina area and small parks. Well worth a visit but two days here is plenty.

Great for just strolling - some of the back streets are magical. People very friendly and very proud of their city. Take the ferry to Cacilhas and try one of the fish restaurants in the main village there. Go to tourist information and you may want to go further.
In Faro we ate at 8 Tapas, the Tavern, and Velha Casa - just what we wanted with delightful staff. Octopus at the Tavern with two crazy waiters was superb.

I am certain I must have reviewed Faro before, but I doubt I will ever tire of the place so I guess whatever I say about it will always be through those eyes... A city, full of hustle and bustle and yet you can always find somewhere to sit, watch life and reflect... Storks are nesting everywhere, you can almost touch the Trains as they rumble through alongside the river, you can see the Airport and the centrally placed bus station will take you here there and everywhere... It has a proper old bit, with walls and everything, including nesting storks and gorgeous architecture... It has functional bits, the commercial centre, it has a Marina, it has culture, it is a proper City full of real life... You may have guessed already I love it 'ALL'... Alan
Convenient for Airport and onward journey next day. We were able to get a good, inexpensive meal in the restaurant at 10pm at night after arriving from Faro Airport.
Hotel is much nicer than in photos.
Large bathroom and room. Very comfortable beds. Good choice at breakfast in pleasant breakfast room.
Friendly staff.Free parking.
There was a music and dancing event on in restaurant as it was Friday night. We enjoyed the family atmosphere and music stopped by 11.30pm so not a problem. Would stay again. Great price with breakfast included.
The location is excellent: out of town but at the beach, close to beautiful walks in the Ria Formosa nature preserve. A certain 1950s charm to the hotel but, see below... More suitable for the warm days of summer, when you spend all of your time outdoors. Only five minutes from the airport by bus or taxi, but not too noisy, as not under the flight path of the aircraft.
The same bus takes you regularly into the town of Faro - and there is also a ferry into town, a 30 minute trip well worth taking, cheaper than the bus!
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, Filipe was an excellent host and provided us with stellar assistance throughout the course of our stay! THANK YOU FILIPE!! The room was cheerful and comfortable and the open balcony style courtyard made the place extra spacious. We also enjoyed sharing a kitchen and having fridge space available, which made our 10 day stay in Faro more economical. Also the Albergio Formosa is very central to the old city, the ferry, the train and bus station.
Really great location in faro, close to the train station and all the old town faro. staff were friendly. It is pretty basic and functional, which is great there was an outdoor area and a kitchen which we didn’t use.
I am pretty used to the £7-12 euros per night in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, so £44 for a room felt a bit steep for what we got, but I think, writing this review in retrospect a few days after we’ve left, that is pretty good for Portugal!
This hotel is our favorite stay so far in Portugal. Clean, plenty of room, comfortable beds, comfortable temperature, helpful and friendly staff, and nice kitchenette. Let us check in a bit early as the room was prepared. Great location for getting off the train and walking around Faro. Enjoyed an evening walk at the harbor listening to some great street music and enjoying the sunset.
the staff was exceptional, local, professional and very upbeat and positive. The quality of guest house exceeded the expectations. The owner allowed only the guests to use the roof bar, because they wanted us to be safe and private.
You literally come down 4 steps and are on the beach, which is absolutely great. THANK YOU ALL, it was a supberb stay and experience with you all.
This is a very well appointed guest house in the Montenegro are of Faro very close to the airport. The accommodation rivals that of much bigger hotels and the facilities are excellent. The staff at this hotel are outstanding, helpful, friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay and would definitely book again.
Staff exceptionally nice with great recommendations. Hotel also keeps several bikes which you can rent for a whole or half day at a very reasonable price. The rooms are pretty standard hotel rooms with a nice bathroom. We only stayed for one night but felt this was enough to see most of Faro.
The location was perfect. Hostel situated right on the beach. So, from your dormitory you can jump straight to the river. It was amazing!
A lot of restaurants and bars around, bus stop close by . It's the island.
The atmosphere is very friendly.
Big self served kitchen is available
A good hotel in a central location, close to the airport, bars, restaurants, and cafes. A short walk from the old town and the centre of Faro. A nice interior, with good kitchen facilities. The hotel staff are great and they're always available to help.
A great-value hotel in a brilliant location 3 minutes from Faro airport. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Car parking for easy access. Rooms are comfortable and clean. I did not have breakfast on this occasion but I know from experience it is good value
The location was great for exploring the town nearby and easy to get to from the bus station (and a short uber ride to the airport). The staff were wonderful and very friendly! We borrowed a beach umbrella for our day trip to Faro beach.
The best hotel we have stayed in during our trip to Portugal, the staff especially Amin were all amazing and very friendly, excellent modern rooms and balconies. We stayed for our honeymoon and the little touches were great!
A lovely 5 star hotel in the center of Faro. Great design, nice large rooms, friendly staff, nice little gym. We loved it. The parking is also made easy (given it's location in the center where cars are not allowed).
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, best breakfast in a long time, location was excellent, beautiful views from our room, hotel is right in the centre of Faro, lovely relaxing few days
Perfect location for a couple of days in nature walking round the marshes and relaxing on the beach after a busy week of travel around Portugal. Nice beach bar opposite.
Location to the airport was handy - less than 500m down the road. The pool area is nice on a hot afternoon in the Portugal sun. The rooms were clean and beds comfy.
I really like this hotel for its perfect location and a the roof-top pool as I love Faro and as a result I have stayed at Hotel Eva perhaps more than 7 or 8 times
Friendly staff ,stay here everytime we come to portugal only 10 mins from airport good start and finish point for holidays very relaxed and helpful place
