we enjoyed our time there very much due to the very helpful and pleasant staff. the breakfasts we had were beyond delicious. while we did not spend a great deal of time in ribeira grande specifically the location was the perfect starting point for our daily excursions. highly recommend the volcanic charming house. special thanks to all the staff, .bob and mania

The appartment is realy cozy and nice, the host is friendly and helpful. Tha appartment has all the stuff what you need, and the garden is so beatuful! The host is leaving on the left side from appartment and has chickens and other animals, our kid was happy to feed them.

The house is well equipped, perfectly located close to the beach, and nicely decorated. The common areas (kitchen and living room) were the ones were we spent most of the time. The house has also an external patio where you can have dinner if the weather permits. You also have a small terrace overlooking the beach. The property is located in a very small village with one restaurant and one bar. If you need groceries, you have to go a bit further away by car. The kitchen is extremely equipped. It allowed us to cook and bake at home when needed. The house was in perfect conditions when we arrived. Despite not having met the hosts, we were in contact with them for several things. They always replied promptly. We highly recommend it.

Small typical north coast town, charming narrow streets.
Small typical north coast town, charming narrow streets. It was great to see the breadman deliver the pao, as the residents waited on the sidewalks. Driving requires full attention, as cars are parked in either lane, so you use the brakes a fair amount. You are never bored driving on Sao Miguel!
Praia dos Moinhos is a wonderful attraction for the area. Great vacation rental - Vivenda Xavier up the hill. Restaurant Marie Cheia was excellent. Glad we stayed in October, as heard it is very busy in the summer. Weather was quite warm some days, and the rain showers were welcome. Travelling along the lower coastal road is enjoyable, with stunning scenery.

Loved the area.
Loved the area. Close to highway to explore the coast, east or west and not far drive to get to Ponta Delgado. Excellent tea plantations nearby, we love Cha Porto Formosa and cute towns. The views are amazing everywhere!!!
