Lovely city with large city facilities yet lots of trees nd a lovely large park and river in the middle of the town. Beware when ordering takeout.... there are not enough couriers available and the promised 25mins delivery time may be 1.5 hours with cold food....

Lovely town with monumental historic buildings and an idylic riverside. Even more could be done with the Mures valley area in terms of eco tourism and leisure options, but hopefully that's all coming. What's more, the people in Arad (as inall of Transylvania, really) are lovely: calm, gentle, helpful, and warm.

Arad is a mid-size city in the west of Romania.
Arad is a mid-size city in the west of Romania. The longer the more, Western influences become more and more visible. A wide variety of Western banking and insurance companies, foodstores that cater to almost every wish, car dealers from Skoda to Jaguar, excellent shopping of every kind - from the modern and exquisite Atrium Mall to the local "Jackson" market, excellent restaurants offering a wide-range of local and international food, and, last but definitely not least, a couple of nice sights, such as the town hall, the Biserica Franciscana, surrounded by the River Mures, and the massive "Holy Trinity" cathedral, a landmark in the town, are musts when stopping in Arad. During the warm days of summer, parks, promenades, open bars and restaurants invite you for a snack or a delicious dinner and if temperatures are getting too hot, you will find cooling at "The Strand" a huge public swimming pool. With the city further renovating old buildings, bringing them back to full glory and with busses and trams connecting the most important parts of town, getting around is easy and cheap ... and, Timisoara, the country's third biggest city, with its beautiful historical town, is just half an hour drive away.
Go, visit Arad, it is the perfect stop while travelling from Western Europe towards the Black Sea.

Oraș cu o moștenire istorică impresionanta, care eclipsează multe localități din țara. Zone istorice, statui, Turnul de apa, cafenele, restaurante, plimbări pe malul Mureșului. The Beauty of the city is in the eyes of the beholder. Are un potențial deosebit, dar mai are de parcurs un drum foarte lung.
The location is beautiful, very clean, with fast internet and a big yard. Also the bed was soooo comfortable. But what we liked most is how petfriendly the owners and employees are, we have never seen hotel owners so happy to see 2 big Carpathian Shepherd dogs in their location (our dogs are crate trained and very friendly, but still). We are very grateful for this, we definitely recommend the location and we'll come back here.
Typical of what you can expect from a Best Western Hotel.
Clean, a little dated but all the facilities are there.
Not much of a view from the room with heavy shutters (which we pulled up) and trees to bar the view.
We only stayed in Arad on a stopover night from Brasov to Budapest.
Visited a bar/restaurant on the river front. All was good.
The hotel is situated in close proximity to the city center, right alongside the promenade. While the room was quite spacious and tidy, it did have a somewhat outdated feel.
On a positive note, the staff members were friendly and accommodating, and the hotel's restaurant boasted a delightful terrace with a scenic view overlooking the bridge.
I needed just short two nights stay for my transfer however it turns out to be a great choice! Apartment was very specious, clean with all equipment, kitchen, large TV, couch and separate sleeping room ready. Everything was brand new (way better then in many Hotels) with great view on Arad from windows.
Location is conveniently close to border and higway A1 and is very practical for transit. Hotel is clean and has plenty of parking spaces. Airco was working well to cool the room during very hot summer day. Friendly staff and reception seems available 24h. Breakfast has sufficient options.
The hotel is conveniently located in the proximity of public transportation, restaurants and shops (food or other types). The room was clean and comfortable. Even if the hotel is close to main transportation routes there is no noise in the room. The breakfast was basic but delicious.
The staff was very nice and waited for us even if we arrived very late in the night. They are very polite and kind. The hotel is very clean and smells good despite the fact it is an old hotel. In the morning we had coffee and continued our travel. It is a perfect hotel for transit.
Came to the hotel at 4 AM and still found helpful staff.
The room was big and clean.
The staff was very helpful and forthcoming. They gave directions on the phone even if it was in the middle of the night.
The hotel staff was excellent, great people and always helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good. We would definitely return if we'll be in the area, recommend!
Hotel with lots of potential, nice and helpful staff, good location for people in transit from/ towards border. Good price.
Good restaurant , good food. Parking on property, free.
I always choose Hotel Continental Forum if I have the opportunity to do so as they never disappointed me with their services. Clean, nice staff, variety breakfast buffet, loved it.
Very nice hotel close to the city center. Very good breakfast (buffet), perfect coffee (professional coffee machine). The room was very clean, well refurbished and looked new.
Looking like a hotel, nearby the center
