This is a true gem. Olov and Christina made us feel very welcome, it was like staying with friends. The breakfast is excellent. Make sure to have dinner there as well, the food is outstanding! We stayed in a very picturesque “herbre” close to the water. The beds were very comfortable and we slept like logs. No running water in the “herbre”, but that was easy to deal with since there is a bathroom in the main building nearby.

Åsarna is a small community that isn't really worth a trip in itself. However, it offers good cross-country skiing opportunities in winter and is a convenient starting point for travelling further up to the mountains and Norwegian border. There are also plenty of attractive sportfishing locations nearby.
