Very good location next to the castle, old town and sea. Nice, clean and cosy room. Really great and varied breakfast. Nice sunny terrace and bar. We forgot to book parking in advance but luckily some lots were available in reasonable price nearby. Kalmar is very nice historical town. Televison (which is not self-evident in Sweden). Very peacefull after 21:30 when the bar was closed. Good beds and billows.

Real fine little city, calm and cozy atmosphere, kind of slow-paced urban lifestyle, and kind of richness in culture. Beautiful architecture with old-time details, an awesome treat for the eyes!
Everything is within a nice walking distance, And the Castle on the sea-shore is simply stunning.

Kalmar is a nice city.
Kalmar is a nice city. The old city walls and the castle give it a good feel. It's easy to take a day trip to Öland from here. I wouldn't recommend this during the fall season as it gets quite cold and windy. I must recommend the restaurant E.A.T.. This restaurant has very heartwarming staff and a great atmosphere.

The guides were very acquainted with the history of the castle and entertaining at the same time specially with the children. We saw the Vasa exhibition, the castle is well preserved and we went 2 times to see it all. Very good experience.

This was my second time in Kalmar and for the second time I went to Ernesto's Italian Restaurant and had a most excellent meal with very good service. Kalmar is a town with lots of history and historic sites, to be contrasted with the modern university. The Slottshotel was very pleasant and located close to the old centre of the town. The weather could have been better but it was December. The old squares, the watch tower and the castle are all delightful. Kalmar is easy to get around though a car is a bit of a nuisance in the old centre. There are many local buses and a train service to a number of main locations including Copenhagen and Kastrup

It was my first visit to Kalmar.
It was my first visit to Kalmar. Stayed there for 4 days to visit my son who just started at Linné University. The atmosphere of the city gave the impression of a calm which I greatly appreciated. Easy to get around almost everywhere by bike and bus. All preserved old buildings, the water tower, the greenery etc made this one of my absolute favorite Swedish cities. The best way to learn more about Kalmar is to walk!
We had a lovely stay at Calmar stadshotell. Our room overlooked the square, so we really had a really nice view of the picturesque houses on the square, as well as the cathedral. The bed was quite comfortable, and the room itself was quiet (the complimentary earplugs made us expect sounds from the other rooms). The staff was friendly and helpful and could give us some pointers to a couple of eats and suggest walks and sights. We would definitely stay here again!
This apartment was so nice , very comfortable and in an Excellent location.
The host was lovely ,he had left maps and books about the local area ,it made our visit so much more enjoyable. This was one of the very few places we stayed in the left information for us, wish more people would do this.
Would definitely stay here again .Kalmar was a lovely area to visit.
Excellent restaurant nearby called TABLE 20.
Food was delicious.
Good place to stay either overnight (like we did) or a bit longer stay. Located in very quiet part of Kalmar, just a short walk distance from beach and Kalmar castle. Apartments equipped with all basic things you need for longer stay, only thing to be aware that you may have your apartments (I think there are couple of options but we got basement one) in the basement floor, so no big windows or garden view from there :)
Everything about our stay at this hotel was perfect for our needs. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the breakfast was varied and good, and the room was well sized with a nice view over the street. The location was also perfect for exploring the sites we were interested in. We loved our stay here and recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in the area.
The hotel was really lovely—charming decor, helpful staff, delicious breakfast. The location is fabulous—close to central station, downtown, and the harbor. The hotel restaurant is really, really good—-with a really lively dinner scene. Creative pizzas (our fave was a roasted brisket pizza with tarragon cream) and equally creative salads.
Extremely convenient, big, a perfectly clean studio apartment. Vey well equipped kitchen. Free parking in a side street directly opposite the hotel. Highly useful location (despite rather uniteresting direct surroundings): relatively close from the highway exit, but quiet and within ca. 15-minute walk from the Kalmar centre and castle.
It was my first time in Sweden for visiting some friends and I stayed in this accommodation, my experience couldn't have been better, I recommend this hotel for anyone who visit Kalmar, the price is very accessible and they serve a very good breakfast in the mornings. If I ever visit this city again, I would stay there again!
The friendliest dog friendly hotel ever! We received a doggie welcome package which included bowls, treats, dog towels and sheets. The room was clean and nice and there was a nice large yard to walk the fur balls. There was a pool, sauna, tennis courts and entertainment rooms. Definitely staying there again!
The location was just down the street from the Kalmar Castle, the main building was elegant and they served a light supper of soups and breads when we arrived, all free, Then the breakfast was very good with a large variety of foods and actually had bacon and eggs and pancakes!
the hotel had a lot of charm, was in a beautiful location, and the staff were friendly and helpful. While we didn’t have the free dinner, we did have the complimentary breakfast, which was wonderful.
Great easy checkin, nice staff and clean hostel/hotel. Breakfast not included, but you can make your own in the kitchen (with stove, freezer and fridge). Good location near city centre.
Beautiful hotel that has developed an old building to a high standard. Exposed beams and lovely courtyard. Wonderful staff. I recommend the full board. Buffet dinner was very good.
The shared kitchen and facilities was great, The room and bathroom was clean as well as spaciuous enough for two persons. There was enough WC around the hotel.
The hotel is in the city center and has a restaurant. The restaurant is very convenient when all other restaurants in the city are already closed after 21:00.
