Even though it is relatively far compared to the other accommodations in the area, the chata is only a short walk from the lake.
The staff is very friendly, the hostess allowed us to drop off our bags in a common room before check-in time and even took them up into our room before we actually checked-in.
The room itself was OK, nothing special, but we were very pleasantly surprised by having our own small fridge in the room and even a little balcony.
There are several outdoor dining / sitting places around the house.
There is free Wi-Fi of mediocre quality.
The kitchen is all right, there is an induction hob with pots available as well as a bunch of other kitchenware. Coffee is available for €.5 per cup (honesty box).
UPDATE (2021-08-17): I am changing the review from 4 to 6 out of 10 just because of the fact that the property offers outstanding prices in the area. I still stand by what I have previously written.
Located in the old mining city of Rožňava, Hotel Čierny Orol looks out over the city’s main square. The famous Krasna Horka Castle can be visited in Krasnohorske Podhradie, 1.9 mi away.
