Serene n quiet. Next to the river and just a short walk to the hot spring. The air is fresh and cool. The host Khun On was kind and helpful that cooks up a delicious breakfast. They have 3 lovely dogs that can keep you occupied.

Welcoming little town well worth visiting. The temple and the caves are great but the best thing for me was that I stumbled into a bar up near the cave which is called . . The Cave bar. This place has to be visited if at all possible. Wonderful hostess and a really chilled, funky vibe.

Not touristic at all, and the local people not friendly.
Not touristic at all, and the local people not friendly.
Not recommend for solo travelers especially women. The treat very primitive.
No way to travel without scooter. There aren't taxi or bicycle available.
The nature around nice, also the caves. The mountain at night stunning.
The hot spring nice but not a big deal..
Nest 2 restaurant very recommended.
There is a realy nice Thursday market between 5-8 pm
Don't take more than 3 days There and don't expect to nice hospitality..

So if you'd like to get off the beaten track somewhat the Chiang Dao, the 1 hour bus ride north of Chiang Mai might be just the ticket. Nestled next to soaring, cloud-wreathed peaks, the pace of life slows down, there's interesting caves to explore, a riverside hot spring and Tuesday covered market.

We ended up staying 3 nights from the original 2 nights. There are a lot to see and explore. We didn't even go to the cave. There is a hot spring not far from town but the smell is too strong for me. Another one is Pong Arng hot springs, part of the Pha Daeng National Park, some 30km out from the bus station. Tickets are 100 baht for foreigners adults, 20 baht for Thai nationals which also admit you to the Sri Sangwan Waterfall some 5-6 km from there. The longan plantations as far as eyes can see, and the mountains view as the sun sets are just beautiful. You may get "lost" in some picturesque cul-de-sac temples or villages which you will never regret!

Chiang Dao is a lovely place to be with nature.
Chiang Dao is a lovely place to be with nature. The hot springs are a highlight, and many accomodations offer a view of the awesome Doi Luang.
From Chiang Mai the route is very simple and close enough to be comfortable (about 1hr30mins).
It's a great place to relax, reconnect with nature, maybe hike.
If I ever came back to Chiang Dao I would stay here again. Ked is an above and beyond host. She took us to the market with her one day, helped us rent motor bikes and dropped us off at the bus station- very kind.
The resort feels like a little slice of paradise in the valley. It is off the main highway, but you wouldn’t know it once you step onto the property. The huts are in great condition and spotless. The pool was refreshing. I would recommend breakfast there in the morning as well.
Chiang Dao Hostel is like a home away from home. It was a great stay, this is why I extented my days there. The garden is like a little paradise.
The manager speaks fluent english and she is very very kind and helpful. The hostel is a little walk away from the center, but I enjoyed little walks to get food etc. It is possible to walk/ hike in 90 minutes either to the hot Springs or the cave.
I had a great stay and I will definitly come back. Thank you cat and nok🙏
Great place! 5-7 min of driving from Chiang Dao main street, and also from the famous Chiang Dao cave. All rooms here are technically houses, each of them has a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom (even with a bathtub)! Houses are spacey and clean. Owners are super friendly!
I highly recommend this place for anyone who's looking for an accommodation in Chiang Dao, it's not expensive and really awesome. I'll definitely stay here again during my next visit.
A very peaceful place. This property is great for a multi day stay. It has a large living room, bathroom, bedroom, private patio and and a kitchen all for the price of a hotel room. The setting is amazing with views of mountains in the backyard. But… the best part of the stay was Naree the owner/host, she has a very welcoming way about her and I enjoyed having conversations with her in the evening and over coffee in the morning. Naree is a gem of a person.
I was disappointed 😔.about the stinky (poop like smell) from the toilet unless the door is close it doesn't spread all over my room. I stayed at room #6. The lady sprayed it with scented spray but never work. Had to stay with it hence it's the only available at that time and already paid for it.
The room was pretty awesome & just when I slide my door the view of My. Chiang Dao is scenic specifically, during the sunset. Morning view was really great.
This hotel really does live up to its name. The views are magnificent - the mountain on one side, rice fields on the other. The restaurant is also excellent and the room was very comfortable. The best thing, though, is the wonderful, hospitable family who own the hotel. I didn’t have any transport so they took me to where I wanted to visit and collected me later in the day. Very generous indeed. I also enjoyed talking to and getting to know them.
central location in Chiang Dao made it easy to find when just off the bus from Chiang Mai. fortunately for us, the managers son? was able to get us 2 scooters for our two days there. we were able to explore the area well on bikes. if we didn’t have these our stay would’ve been very different snd very likely it would’ve been a disaster.
the room was very basic, clean with 2 bottles of water, soap and towels included.
Idyllic peaceful setting and a wonderfully comfortable, spacious and well equipped bungalow. On seeing this we immediately extended our planned visit by an extra 3 days. With delicious, varied and filling breakfasts and dinners (with beer) included in the price Wes Village allowed us to relax completely. The staff led by Soi were ever friendly, helpful and efficient. Scooter hire also available to explore Chiang Dao.
A few month ago, My partner and I had stayed Ashi Guesthouse for our first time visit Chiang Dao, WE enjoy our time very much in Jack's Room. This is a second time that I am booking a room for my parents anniversary and they had such a great weekend away at Ahi Guesthouse. Thank you so much for Khun Oil and her staffs who made everything so wonderful for my parents.
The location is perfect- less than 5 min on foot to the hot springs. The land is beautiful and well kept, it is by a little stream and really lovely to chill. The owner is super friendly and cooks breakfast each morning. My favourite place to stay in Chiang Dao.
Beautiful, relaxing property with a river running alongside it! One of the nicest hostels I have ever stayed in. The hosts were very kind and even called in a mechanic when our motorbike (which we rented from a separate company) got a flat tire!
Serenity1 Homestay has been the perfect location for our honeymoon, thanks to the attentive care of the host, beautiful view of the Chiang Dao mountain and welcoming room. We definetly recommend this homestay if you are staying in Chiang Dao.
We had a wonderful stay here. Most comfortable bed and bedding I’ve had in Thailand! Beautiful roundhouse, nice and quiet Neighbour hood, lovely view of the mountain. Susie and her staff are lovely very friendly. Super clean room
The location is great. Near national park/mountain. Very peaceful. Close to hot springs. Very attentive host. He organized a BBQ for is one night which was a great experience. One of hour highlights in Northern Thailand.
The owners were very nice. They greeted me as soon as I arrived and explained a lot about Chiang Dao. The room was extremely clean and big. The land around the room was huge and well maintained. Beautiful settings.
Thong was the best host I’ve ever had and she gave my girlfriend and I a truly memorable stay. She went above and beyond in taking care of us and I recommend anyone who plans to visit Chiang Dao to stay with her.
the place is about 500 m from chiang dao cave, there are grocery shops and restaurants around, the open space is big and spacious and it is facing the mountain
