Henry the very friendly manager found us the following day a room without mold smell (a problem arising from the poor drainage in the bathroom). The Thai food at the restaurant was very tasty and the staff willingly replaced the juice in breakfast with a plate of fresh fruit. They also provided us a reasonably priced transportation to the airport.
Given that it was the low season -- the oppressive April hot muggy weather -- and we were a few kilometers from the nearest community, the resort was nearly empty and thus quiet. Next to the hotel is a lovely Buddhist complex, the oldest on the island.

Laura is an amazing host which makes you feel like you are at home. Rooms are nicely decorated, pool is so refreshing and breakfast was very Good with homemade product (yoghurt, pancakes, jam etc.)
