FAQs about hotels in Taipei

The Undiscovered Asian Capital

Capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan), huge Taipei is surrounded by mountains. Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, dominates its skyline from Xinyi, an area known for the most active nightlife.

At Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall the national flag is raised every morning and the guard changed every hour. Less known for tourists is National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, containing a tall bronze statue of the country’s founding father.

Of the wealth of Taipei museums, the best are Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines and the National Palace Museum – one of world’s largest collections of Chinese artifacts. Even more numerous are the temples dedicated to Buddhist, Taoist and Chinese folk religions. Xinsheng South Road is nicknamed ‘Road to Heaven’ for its sheer number, but most famous is Longshan Temple in Wanhua, the oldest district.

Taipei shopping is fantastic and includes Core Pacific Living Mall, supposedly Asia’s largest. The Ximending area has lots of shops (and karaoke), while the Shilin Night Market should not be missed. For a break from the bustle head to central Daan Forest Park, the botanical gardens with its lotus ponds,or Yangmingshan National Park, known for hot spring baths and spring cherry blossom.

Whether you fly into Songshan or Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, efficient public transport takes you to the Taipei hotels on Booking.com.

Stayed 8 nights in Taipei did not travel out due to the earthquake situation. Taipei's Night Markets are over rated. I have been to 6 different Night Market they practically sell the same kind of food and not necessary as tasty as some of the You Tubers would like you to believed. There are better tasting stores than others but nothing really to scream about. But I loved their Pineapple super sweet eat it everyday . It is fairly easy to travel around the city in public transport.. I have been to Yehliu, Houtong, Yangmingshan National Park.,Jiufen ,Shifen Waterfall and Pingxi Sky Lantern. Fisherman Wharf and Keelung for seafood. Really wanted to experience Taiwan's unique Night Market Culture but was very disappointed.

MRT and high-speed railway are very developed in this city. The cost is cheap and you can go to almost every destination. People are friendly and willing to help. City roads and stations are cleaned. Only food, perhaps it's not suitable for someone like the healthy style because a majority of them are oily.

Several times during my short stay people went well out of their way to help me. One on occasion, an older lady who was getting her hair done in the salon where I got a hair cut left her chair walked me down the steps of the shop and out into the street and about 20 yards to an intersection to ensure I did not get lost and found my destination. Taipei Taiwanese during the days I spent there seemed to be a fine people, their city clean and safer than many US large cities. I don't think they will like mainland China coming in and taking over. I visited a couple of great temples and had great suppers.

The room was very spacious and it’s one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in at a hotel. I’m very picky about my pillows because I have neck issues and these did wonders! The hotel’s air filtration system is amazing because it always smelled so nice. The dinner buffet at Palette was very impressive. From scallops to fresh sashimi and everything in between. The breakfast buffet wasn’t as impressive though. I expected ‘more’ - something more comparable to the dinner buffet. Nonetheless, the entire experience was grand.

The only thing Iike in this hotel is the location, it is near Taipei 101 and Embassy of Netherlands which we had an appointment the next day. Even the staff were helpful in providing an electric fan as an alternative solution due to malfunctioning aircondition, still I did not had a good sleep. They told us that we can transfer to another room but its too late at night and it’s hassle and troublesome. The room is clean, the toilet, and water pressure from shower is fine. If you have a car, a parking space is also available.

The location was great, right next to their famous event stadium in Taipei. On the right side of the main entrance is connected to a mall that has everything from clothing to snacks and food. it was pretty close to everything that we needed to get to. There are parks and other food courts around the area within 15 minutes of walking distance. bus stop is 3 to 4 mins of walking. The concierge was super helpful. There's also a 7/11 behind the hotel, it's tuck away, so ask the front desk.

I mistakenly assumed I could order breakfast but it turned out there is not a restaurant, only a food truck. This symbolizes the very creative environment in the hotel - when you enter the hotel lobby, you really feel like you have entered a theme park. The room was large and comfortable, and the hotel is situated next to the Taipei Main Station from where you have access to all main transportations - Airport MRT, high speed trains, regular trans and metro.

This is a great place to stay in Taipei. The rooms are new and well-designed, staff are nice, free snacks and laundry. We stayed for 10 days and ended up staying in all the room types except for the one without a private bathroom and all were good. Will definitely stay again next time. Ps. The facilities is pretty standard, and because of the timing (during the New Year's timing) the pricing was about 4x what it should have been. However, we are very satisfied with the stay and how the CHO hotels are operated. The staff is fantastic, and the location is convenient for visitors and locals alike. I love the little touches they put for visitors to leave remarks and send postcards home.

Location is very good, neighbourhood around is super lively with tons of options for food and drinks, close to MRT, and it’s in Taipei proper. Value for money is pretty decent as hotels in Taipei can get outrageously expensive, so this one provides a nice budget option. Free laundry room (only dryer is paid — 500 TWD) was a great touch. The staff of the hotel is super friendly. So no bad experience there. The location is also fine; it's in the older area of Taipei, close to the MRT and there are a lot of restaurants and coffee bars within walking distance. Note that cleaning of the room is done any other day and not daily (not an issue as at home I also do not daily change my bedding).

The room is clean, cosy and spacious. Location is good, lots of local food options around, 7-11 and family mart. It’s also in a quiet neighbourhood with two parks near the hotel. Nanjing Fuxing is the nearest station, about 10 min walk from the hotel + another 2-3min walk to get to the platform (green & brown lines).

Fantastic location - Walkable distance to Taipei Main Station; Has a major bus stop right outside the hotel; Super close to Ximending. Budget-friendly rooms (small but has all you need and it's kept pretty clean esp the toilet). Easy check-in and out process. Will definitely stay here again next time!

Hotel was wonderful, centrally located. Staff were professional, friendly and hospitable. The room was spacious with a standing bathtub and over extra wide bed! Separate shower from the toilet room. We had such a pleasant stay we came back our last night before coming home.
