This cabin has a great location on beautiful turn again arm, and is just 20 minutes from anchorage. However, the interior is very disappointing. It's billed as rustic, but it's actually just run down and not maintained. Furniture is busted & dreary looking, large stains on the carpet, and the heater didn't work. When we told the single staff person, who was also the waitress and cook in the bar, she just shrugged and said to look for the controls at the top in the loft. At least the shower was clean with lots of hot water and there was a coffee maker for the morning. But cooking pots and pans were in terrible shape and you wouldn't want to eat out of them.. we only stayed one night, which was enough. Too bad as the cabin could have been so cozy and nice, if owner would just invest a little money in up keep, and decent furnishings.

Rugged mountain trails, great birding, excellent geology, very tasty food. Simple lodgings but I don't particularly like fancy stuff or fancy places. Fragile snowflakes need not bother. If you can take care of yourself and your needs are simple, kind of a step up from camping, this place works. Staff are super friendly. Wifi is a little slow but you're surrounded by mountains, so who cares?

Friendly People, clean room, fan and kitchenette with coffee supplied. Loved the location and fairly quiet. Could use a screen on bathroom window. The location was fantastic! Anchorage twenty minutes away, Whittier tunnel, animal reserve, Alyeska Tram, and zoo were all our destinations, before a good nights sleep at Bird Creek. Price was great, really enjoyed our stay!

Very nice place to stay.
Very nice place to stay. We spent 1 night at Bird Creek Motel & RV park. The room was super clean and very quiet. We would recommend to anyone and would stay there again!!! Very inexpensive. Close to the convenience station.
