I stayed in a double room the night after running the Boston Marathon. Claremont is easy to get to, not too far from one of the interstate highways.
The Common Man Inn is a converted mill. What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. This inn is spectacular — from its location on the river to its rustic refurbished buildings, excellent restaurant, friendly and helpful staff, and overall sparkling cleanliness. The large room near reception is so very appealing: three comfy sofas around the fireplace to read. Brick and beams and bookcases...so warm and inviting.
The staff members were friendly, helpful, and profesional. Caterinne, the girl who greeted us at the reception, was charming, efficient and gave us all kinds of instructions. We appreciated that the Fitness Center with Gym / Workout Roomfitness room and jakuzzi and sauna facilities were open until 11 p.m. That was the perfect ending to the marathon.
The rooms are spacious and the bedding is among the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Spacious room (perfectly-placed reading light., air conditioning, Desk,Telephone, Coffee / tea maker, Refrigerator, Flatscreen TV, Bottled water, Iron, Wake-up service / alarm clock...)
Nicely equiped bathroom: Complimentary toiletries, Hair dryer, artisan soap ...
Free wifi was included and it was fast and uninterrupted.
In the morning there was a complimentary expanded continental breakfast served in the lobby, Cereals, breads, juice, fruit, better quality yoghurts, coffee, thee and superdelicious the breakfast sándwiches: high quality.
I look forward to being there again !

The common man is always a great stay, great location, great...
The common man is always a great stay, great location, great staff very clean and welcoming! The rooms are great spacious with nice decor and comfortable beds. The only issue which would not stop me from continuing to come back is the breakfast! The area is way to small, in the corner of the main lobby, very busy has to come back for coffee twice it is a bit frustrating if you go at the wrong time the food options are typical for a continental breakfast but needs a better location and more seating would be nice if the breakfast was in the restaurant instead for just breakfast hours huge recommendation!
Great ambience and room was very large and very clean. The hotel is next to a beautiful river in a quaint town worth checking out. Building has historical significance and the architectural details all around the area show it. Very quiet and comfortable setting with a good restaurant right next door.
I was a little apprehensive, but on a busy weekend (for Claremont), other options were already booked. I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and comfort. It looked like effort had been made to bring the place up to modern expectations. I would have no hesitation about staying there again.
Beautifully restored and updated mill building right on a river and a waterfall. Its restaurant right next door with great food and excellent service. Great base for exploring a very beautiful area of NH/VT.
The location was a little for the main area of town. It is close to the VT bridge. A good place if you are going to Mt. Ascutney or Windsor VT. The price was $40/$50 less then other places.
Beautiful hotel very busy the weekend I was there. Was able to see the water fall. Parking is a very slight issue. Hotel provides top quality soaps and creams for the guests.
This is a very modest hotel. Very tiny rooms, but very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Minimal amenities, but for the price this was what we expected.
