2 adults and a medium sized dogs traveling across the country to MA. Arrived late but clear instructions were given and once we arrived we were greeted and had any questions answered and were led to our room. We were exhausted... Tayler and family were fantastic and in the am we had coffee together and talked about sights on our journey. Dog was happy to have room to run. People were so kind. Lodge is located west of downtown Custer so it was quiet and peaceful. Nice job Rains family!!! Thank you.

We recently spent two days in Custer, SD, and it was fantastic. Custer is a perfect base camp for taking in all the surrounding sites including Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Custer St. Park wildlife loop, and the Custer St. Park Sylvan Lake area including Black Elk Peak-Little Devils Tower-Cathedral Spires hikes.

Great central location to Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Jewel Cave, Mt Rushmore. You can get a decent meal. It is not just burger restaurants. Custer State Park has incredible wildlife especially at dawn and dusk. It is as good as most National Parks. The Custer tourist area is the same as any of the others but the buffalo sculptures set it apart. There is also a farmer's market downtown.Cynthia - 10Scored 10

It was the perfect location for visiting all the sites. My only complaint/observation is that the hotel rooms are on the smaller side which made it a bit cramped for my family of 4. We were road tripping and had quite a bit of luggage. The beds were comfortable. The best part was the breakfast every morning. The staff working the breakfast were wonderful and kind! Overall we would stay again!
