Although interesting and nice, Dobbs Ferry is not a destination. Generally people stay there because they have family in one of the rivertowns. It is easy to get to the city on metro north, but you won't feel like you are in NYC.

The location was very convenient.
The location was very convenient. The room and public areas were very nice--it looks like a new building. The neighborhood was nice for a walk. The check-in experience was not great: the clerk tried for a long time to produce keys without letting us know what was going on, and finally had to walk us to a room across from the elevator, which we had not asked for. Then she had to walk us back to the front desk to change our room to another one, which was very quiet.
The front desk was often unattended. We left by just leaving our keys on the desk because there was no one there.
We might have used the hotel shuttle, which was clearly visible, but were told it was not running. What was it for?
