We wanted to view the Coast Redwoods and went to Humboldt State Park which is south of Loleta. Loleta is 45 minutes north of the visitors center so we could have stayed in a closer location to that. However, there is an abundance of other options of things to do in this area. Loleta itself is a very small town, but there are larger towns very nearby. We especially love the private location and this home was a great value.

Loleta itself wasn't too much....no stores or eateries, no gas. But no problem. We bought groceries at Winco in Eureka on our way in. (maybe 15 miles??) We ate in all but one meal which we had in Ferndale about 8 miles away. The house was about 4 miles off the main hwy, up on a hill overlooking the bay. Quite nice. Continue 3 miles past the house and you are at a sparsely populated beach. Watch for the left turn off Hookton Rd.....it does not say "Table Bluff Rd.". Trust your GPS.
