Though Manchester is dotted with name brand retailers, it has retained a semblance of culture that typifies mountain life in southern Vermont. Northshire Bookstore alone is well worth a visit or stay. We could have spent a week there, or more, and did spend several hours on an all-too short weekend stay. In an era dominated by online-homogenization, finding an authentic bookstore is like turning the pages of a book like none other. The property is adorable and very close to town. Breakfast in the morning is so tasty and fresh, not your run of the mill hotel breakfast.
