Days Inn by Wyndham Pentwater, hotel in Mears

Days Inn Pentwater is just minutes from some of Michigan's beaches, finest art galleries, antique stores and specialty shops. Popular attractions like picturesque Lake Michigan lighthouses, the S.S.

The breakfast was not very good. No eggs, no meat, no real oatmeal, the pastries were all store bought cellophane wrapped things. But the rooms were fine and the staff was very helpful. Hot tub was nice. Fire alarm went off several times this morning!

    What a friendly town!

What a friendly town! The Golden Eatery is where you want to eat! Food was outstanding and at very low cost. The staff made you feel like family! Plenty of things to do to keep you busy. I would move here if I could!

We stayed in Silver Lake Sand Dunes.

We stayed in Silver Lake Sand Dunes. It was nice and we ventured out around the area a bit too. The whole town shuts down after the Apple Barbecue festival the 3rd weekend of September, so if you are going to the sand dunes, be prepared for a bit of a drive for a hotel or food. There are so many campgrounds in the area, it seems like those who were camping were having more fun than we were.

    Come here before Labor Day.

Come here before Labor Day. Nothing in town is open after that. We were here a week after Labor Day and it seemed as though we were the only people here. It’s great if you want some peace and quiet for a couple days. We stayed 3 nights which was too long. 2 would have been enough. Good thing it’s only a half hour drive to Ludington and an hour to Manistee. Casino in Manistee is very nice. Mears is very small. No restaurants open in town. No gift shops open either after Labor Day.

Very beautiful location, also close enough to enjoy day...

Very beautiful location, also close enough to enjoy day trips to upper Lake Michigan areas. We went to Ludington and Frankfort for the day. Mears was very beautiful and the state park and sand dunes were amazing; however, due to the nature of people being allowed to drive off-road vehicles on dunes, area is very noisy and it is hard to relax. Would recommend Mears as a day trip only.
