We booked a regular room and got to stay in the suite directly above the lobby. Very close to the highway but any additional noise was well compensated by the comfort of the large room and beds. The hotel is very clean and tidy!
Shuttle service and other buses to Port Authority stop right in front of the lobby.
Ample shops and food within walking distance.
Breakfast in this hotel is very basic, but we knew that when booking.
Excellent value for money.
Will definitely use this hotel again!

The hotel had amazing accommodation. The room was very clean and check in process was smooth. The location is very convenient if you plan on staying outside of Manhattan as the bus stop was only a couple of minutes away. The bus would run hourly and stopped in Times Square. The commute is not bad at all but it does require some time to get to and from Manhattan. They offered a nice breakfast but there is not much variety. The menu would repeat every other day but it was tasty nonetheless.

The room was clean, probably newly renovated. the mattress was nearly good, towels good quality. TV was huge. Bus to Manhattan is only 5 minutes walk and cost 3$50 per person.

We were offered the Hotel as a substitute to a facility in Manhattan. We have not seen much from North Bergen. Originally, we expected we would be much closer to New York where we planned our program.
BUT it is quite convenient that there is a large supermarket (Target) and several fast-food restaurant within walking distance.

North Bergen is a safe neighborhood, it was quiet at night. Living in NJ is the best way to visit New York while having a car. Parkings are tough and expensive in NYC downtown. While you can live here paying less and maybe having a free parking for your car. you'll have shuttles coming and going throughout the day which can take you to Times Square for around (3-7$). but if you're visiting just for NY and you want to enjoy every moment of your day, I'll recommend not renting a car and living in the downtown area while everything is within walking distance from you.

We stayed for roughly a week's stay here.
We stayed for roughly a week's stay here. It's a small town, but it has the basics: food stores, dollar stores, and several other businesses. I felt safe walking around in day, and night. We mainly went to New York using public transportation, but North Bergen was a quiet, quaint, small town.

we found multiple roaches in the room, to which we basically got a shrug when we went to the lobby to tell them. above the night stand was missing a light, and there was this faint clicking noise that was constant throughout the entire stay. in addition all of the vending machines were broken and there was only one small cooler full of lukewarm water. elevators smelled weird.

Many guests we spoke to were going on a cruse so used the hotel as a car park and overnight stay not a place for a vacation stay in our opinion, there is nothing to do in walking distance of hotel so would need a car to get around. The place looked too industrial and very run down in the surrounding area, not a place for a family holiday with kids! You will need to be very fit if walking anywhere from hotel as it is on top of a very steep hill. There are no proper resturants nearby to our hotel, there is a bus stop opposite to get to New York. Wont be staying there again because of location but the staff were fantastic at fairfield hotel and suites by Marriott.

If you want to go to NYC from North Bergen the best option...
If you want to go to NYC from North Bergen the best option is taking public transit, about $3.50-5.10 one way. Due to the bridge tolls an Uber will cost about $35-60 one way. Getting TO New York via bus was very easy HOWEVER, taking the bus from the Port Authority Bus Station was extremely confusing. You have to select a bus (even though you usually have multiple buses that can take you to the same stop) and you also have to pick zones but they can change depending on the bus and not the location of your bus stop.
Location was good, not an attractive neighbourhood but at least, only 5 minutes walk from the Supermarket & Bus Station, which the Bus will bring you to the Port Authority Terminal in Manhattan (+- 20 minutes distance).
Bed and pillows were ok.
We didn’t try the breakfast.
Typical American Coffee was available for free, at the lobby of the hotel.
Shuttle bus brought us to the NW Airport for free. Timing slots were not really good, but at least the driver (the hotel manager) was very kind and talkative, we enjoyed the chat.
Easy access to New York Time Square, NJ Transit bus stop JFK Blvd is 10 minutes by walk from the hotel.
It's just $3.5 one way from/to Port Authority Bus Terminal and tickets can be bought with Credit card in NJ Transit mobile app.
Buses are available even at midnight and safe to walk from the bus stop to the hotel.
The hotel provides free and a decent breakfast for all guests.
The room size, bed size and facilities are good.
This property was so accommodating for us! We took a red eye and landed almost 7 hours before our check in time and they were very understanding and let us check in early! Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to take a trip to NYC. The bus across the street (the 127) takes you straight into Port Authority which is about a 5 min walk from Time Square.
Staff was very helpful! They went the extra mile to accommodate our needs. Hotel itself was very clean and close enough to NYC (uber was approx $35 USD each way, though sometimes it would get to $50 to get to the empire state building). It was great value for money!
Great location if you come from the Newark airport. Perfect for one night before going to Manhattan. There is a very convenient shuttle that takes you to Manhattan for 3,5$. The shuttle stops in front of the hotel every 10/15 minutes.
It was clean, well priced, and everyone was nice. The room was comfortable and nicely updated. The rooms look exactly like the pictures. The food selections for breakfast were great. Few hotels have turkey substitutes for the meats.
It's close to NY and to a lot of buses. Affordable. Clean. There are shopping centers and restaurants nearby. The hotel provides some breakfast from 6 am- 9am, but basic breakfast. The beds are comfy, clean and spacious.
Very friendly staff but hotel was a bit rundown. Location was nice with a park and ride to Manhattan close by and the price was reasonable. Beds were clean but room a bit smelly and the bathroom was moldy
Great, clean hotel not far from New York and bus stops. Shuttle to airport was very helpful. Lenny at the front desk and other staff were super kind and welcoming. Definitely recommend!
Hotel room was spacious, equipped with a fridge, microwave, TV, hairdryer, free parking. Clean towels and cleaning of the room every day, free tea and coffee at the lobby all day long.
The lobby looked clean. The staff were nice and helpful. The parking lot was free and easy to access by elevator. The elevator were faster than other hotels.
