My goal: a break from real life for a few days. Done! Easy check-in, perfect size room, comfortable, welcoming. Walked 100' to the icehouse, had a couple of beers and a fabulous burger. Spent a day at the Lake Livingston State Park (walking, kayaking). Slept in one day, sat on the front porch and then sat out by the water, reading and listening to the birds. Friends & family were impressed with the video of the place and front yard that I sent them (I can't post the video, so I took fuzzy screenshots from the video.). I'll be back!

What an awesome experience and superior tent camping site......stayed with my family and wish we had more time here ....will definitely come back. Awesome large tent and perfect setting near the Sam Houston National Forest.
The Restaurant selections are varied. It is a small town, so make sure you bring every comfort you need. There are a few gas stations, a Dollar General and a grocery store and the local bar. There are more small businesses than I expected and everyone is friendly and helpful.
