Right by the Red Roof there is an excellent gym, Crunch Fitness, I used it on a previous stay and did so again this time.
There are restaurants and shops within walking distance.
The hotel is two minutes to the freeway linking other places.
San Dimas is not for everyone, but it suits my purposes as a good base.

A busy, yet, respectable city.
A busy, yet, respectable city. Plenty of stores to go shopping. A variety of fast food restaurants to go to. You get a sense of security; but, don't let your guard down. It's no different than any other suburban city.

San Dimas is a quaint westerner theme town.
San Dimas is a quaint westerner theme town. I have no complaints about the town itself, my complaint is about the EXTENDED STAY AMERICA HOTEL located in San Dimas. WE DO NOT RECCOMMEND IT AT ALL. Best to stay at the Best Western San Dimas!
Best Western was my home for 20 days and it was an amazing experience! Everything was very clean and breakfast was very good! I went to study at the University of La Verne and made many friends both at the hotel (the students who were staying there) and at the University! The entire hotel team is to be congratulated for their work and professionalism. It was all very good! The hotel is very close to the shopping centers and for those who like to walk, the University can be reached on foot. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
Its a very basic hotel -- zero frills. I was staying on the ground floor near the entrance --- there were no privacy curtains as it was so gloomy when I visited ,that meant I had to have the very dark curtains closed with lights on or the curtains wide open and be in the gloomy room. Really no cups or a kettle or a spoon to make a drink . I would not chose to stay again .it is what is considered cheap -- really, it cost $260 for two nights!
The management here down to the housekeepers are all very very nice and professional. They treat you like family here. My family and I have never been mistreated here or made to feel uncomfortable. This Motel 6 is what above and beyond looks like. I can tell the manager treats her staff with respect and shows them appreciation, hence why it's reciprocated to the guests.
WE GOT THE HOTEL TO CHECK AND THE PERSON AT THE FRONT DESK STATED THEY HAD NO ROOMS. SHE SAID SHE HAD TO CANCEL OR RESERVATION. WE HAD TO LEAVE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
IT TOOK FOREVER TO FIND CUSTMER SERVICE TO TALK TO SOMEONE
This place was disgusting, very dirty the people who were hanging out in the parking lot made me fill uncomfortable. Room smelled horrible, old and dirty. The pictures online don’t match the hotel it’s self
