Room was very nice. Clean, new furnishings. Great bed, linens, pillows. Good tv. Gave it a lower score for quality of breakfast. If you like waffles and sweet rolls for breakfast you will be happy here. We did have a great breakfast at El Camino restaurant just down the road

Freshly renovated, super comfortable bed, better than all the higher-priced motels I've stayed in, quiet, very friendly and helpful staff. Very close to an excellent family restaurant El Camino.

Road work and repairs kinda made getting around a challenge since I never been there before. No hours of operations were posted on the San Miguel church so we missed that. El Camino family restaurant was great and ask for "Harmony" to be your waitress. She works hard and tirelessly and super pleasant.
Overall, everything was at a relaxed pace and we loved it. The guys who worked the Rock Museum went above and beyond to find a couple of topo maps for me that were of another part of New Mexico and sold me a Geologic Highway map of the state as well. Great stuff.

Socorro is a small town with some very interesting sights around. We enjoyed looking at the Very Large Array on our way into town, and enjoyed the mining and technology college grounds near the motel.

Socorro offers the closest lodgings and dining for birders...
Socorro offers the closest lodgings and dining for birders taking in Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. It's an easy drive down New Mexico 1 or I-25. I was there only one night, but there appeared to be a good assortment of hotels, restaurants, gas stations, a Walmart, all the essentials for a pleasant stay.
The Best Western Socorro far exceeded our expectations. The room and bed were comfortable, the staff was gracious and so friendly, the breakfast was filling and tasty, and, importantly, the hotel was quiet. We did get to use the spa and pool and those were added bonuses to our three-night stay. This provided a central location for visiting the local wildlife refuges and for making a trip south to visit White Sands NM.
Location was excellent. We were on our way from the Petrified Forest, Arizona to our next stop in Alamagordo, New Mexico and found Socorro a small, quiet town that was ideal for us as we didn't want to drive until the next day. The hotel is already quite old and basic but staff were very helpful and accommodating - loved that most about our stay.
Close to I25, clean and pretty, with a helpful friendly, staff. Vanessa fixed my reservation problem before I arrived ( I made it for two night instead of two rooms for one night). They served a hot breakfast with biscuits and gravy and fresh waffles, fruit, muffins, etc., first hot hotel breakfast in at least a year.
The location was perfect, the staff was very friendly, quiet location. Dog friendly, nice area for dog use. Spacious parking area and well lit up. I was in a hurry, I wish I would have had more time to visit area, nice location.
