Situation, close to places for evening meal and breakfast. Friendly reception upon arrival. Room was clean. And big enough for 3adults.
Situated in a renovated 1920s church building, Haven By The Sea is located in the quiet town of Wells Beach, onlysteps away from the Atlantic Ocean and set between Ogunquit and Kennebunkport.

Nothing. Huge deception when comparing to our initial stay years ago.

Excellent place to stay. Hosts (and the dog) are lovely, breakfast tasty and generous, room comfortable, good location for parking and restaurants, close to the Maine Coast. Kennebunkport and Oginquit close by
Wells is a great little town. I visited off season, but there were many places still open. Mimi’s Quilt Shop further down Route 1 was awewsome! I had a great dinner at Mike’s Clam Shack and breakfast at the Egg and I. Although there were many antique shops, none seemed open when I was visiting.

We loved our beds. They were so comfortable.
We loved our beds. They were so comfortable. It’s a convenient place to stay because every thing you needed is in the same road. Just up the road from Wells beach , Maine Diner and the Egg and I. I loved that! We were put in a downstairs room and the people upstairs kept walking around and we heard it all night. I would avoid getting a downstairs room. That was the worse. Nubble Lighthouse not far away.

Beautiful area - the beach is gorgeous!
Beautiful area - the beach is gorgeous! Perkins Cove Candies, Congdon'e Donuts and The Bitter End restaurant are 'must visit' stops. The Bitter End's food was unique the spot was fun and festive. Had a spectacular spicy marguerita with their house-made jalapeno tequila. Not a 'touristy' spot either. I might drive the 2.5 hours just to eat there again. lol

Be prepared for the exorbitant meter rates at all the public beaches. Otherwise, good food such as the Maine Diner and nearby attractions such as Lundholm Farm. To avoid the rip off parking, we drove up to Ferry Beach State Park, well worth it.

Wells is not as charming as Ogunquit but hotel was between the two. I would choose to spend time in Ogunquit. Enjoyed going to the playhouse and the marginal path. Parking is a nightmare, however. We parked by catholic church after last mass. Otherwise, not sure where we could have parked. Would like to make it on to the beach for next visit.

Very nice village to get to know southern coastal Maine up to Portland. Fishing trips easy to be booked in small harbor (speak with harbor master, or ask for captain Tom). Easy to eat Fishermen’s Catch pub nearby. Shops nearby and beaches available. Smaller and less touristy than Kennebunk or Portland.
You can visit fair amount of lighthouses within a few minutes driving distance from here.
The property is perfectly located for the beach, restaurants, and shopping. Wells Beach has a cute arcade for the young and young at heart. Mini-golfing, go-karts… you name it. The hotel is VERY clean, as is the pool and hot tub. We loved the staff! The ladies at the front desk were helpful and more than accommodating! They even had us set up for an extra night’s stay if we needed because CT was being hit by a tropical storm, and we had no power. We will be back again!
Pretty, clean and safe room. They communicated well and allowed me to arrive late and left a key available. ( A little unsure of the safety of that??) but hotels do it at times. Sometimes in Europe, they often get mad if you want to arrive late and even don't try to accomodate you, leaving you without a room!!
The kid at the front desk was nice to visit with and gave me some great tips about the surrounding area. I would definitely return. Handy location!
Bill and Mike made us feel right at home! The room was spotless and clean, the house was organized and spacious, and the outdoor garden area was beautiful. They both went to great lengths to ensure we had a great time in Wells, not to mention their breakfast was amazing! Will definitely be coming back, they made our anniversary very special.
Location fantastic for both Wells and Ogunquit. Great host in Patrick who cooked fantastic breakfasts! Room was large with great shower and ac. Pool looked fantastic (unfortunately rained quite a bit when we were there so didn’t use) gardens were beautiful. Great easy parking and within walking distance to may restaurants
Love that this a small family owned motel. Always clean, comfortable and close to everything. We try to get to Wells once a year and unless we use our timeshare, always stay here. Small kitchen space with fridge is a thoughtful addition. Not fancy, but clean, friendly and reasonable priced.
No breakfast here…I ended up with a downstairs room . The people upstairs kept walking across the floor all night. No more downstairs for me. Good location because Wells beach up the road , the Egg and I and the Maine Diner are all on same road. Loved that!
The employees were very pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect! It was my first time in Wells Maine and this hotel made it worth the trip!
We love the Wells area and Village By the Sea is in a perfect location near the beach and wonderful seafood restaurants. Rooms were well kept and updated. Beds very comfortable.
