I liked the being away from all the traffic and in nature with all the wild life roaming around the tents. It was a good way to kind of force you to enjoy nature with no tv in the tent. It was very nice and quiet. Very good for bonding and spending quality time with the person or people you are there with.

Spacious for large groups, but short on cutlery and kitchen utensils for large groups, many fixtures were broken and some walls need to be cleaned for hygienic purposes in the bathrooms.

We stayed at Dungbeetle River Lodge for 2 nights while visiting Addo. We arrived in the late afternoon and then took a full day game drive from the lodge. It was a bit much for us and would do a morning game drive next time. The experience was awesome, it was just too long for our pensioner bodies! Staying 2 nights was perfect because the evening gave us a nice recovery period before we hit the road for our return to Cape Town. Dungbeetle River Lodge was a perfect location from which to travel into Addo. It's literally 3 minutes from the south gate of the park.

Not a quaint little tourist town, and somewhat disappointed with our stay (for choice of shops, restaurants and ease of access to the river, lack of info for St Croix marine reserve).
The Sand dunes are spectacular, but also not easy to access as on private property. The day visit permit is affordable (via Pearson resort) yet this information is not easily available to visitors.
Close proximity to Addo South Gate which is great.
Some marketing PR would go a long way!

It is a dusty , dirty place a favorite stop-over for long distance lorry drivers
and all that they bring with them. The only :restaurants" which are really only fast food eatery's and not very good a that. the only thing Colchester has got going for it is that is very convenient for the Addo Elephant park,
other than that it is not worth a visit.

As a teenager I basically grew up in Colchester, not the asea as such, but we did a lot of camping over the years with friends and family. The views are just spectacular and if you love fishing it gets even better as it is a fisherman`s paradise.

Its a great place to get away from our busy everyday life.
Its a great place to get away from our busy everyday life. Colchester is the perfect place to just unwind and in its beauty. We didnt do much sightseeing, but most definitely will next we go there again.
The house is in a very secure and quiet area. You feel really safe. We stayed at the 3 bedroom apartment. It was very clean and spacious. The apartment looks much better than in the pictures. The kitchen is very comfortable and has all appliances.
We were able to watch movies on Netflix.
The staff and owner were very kind and helpful (they even did our laundry although it is not supposed to be included).
The house is located 5 minutes drive from the Addo south gate. Best location!!
We highly recommend this house. Thank you for hosting us!
We had a very lovely room and super warm welcome. The breakfast was great. Unfortunately we couldn't use it on the first morning though as we booked a safari and breakfast is only from 7:30, exactly when all the safaris start. But we got a little snack package which was super nice.
It is very close to the main supermarket and restaurant, which is super nice. Besides that the village has nothing much to give but usually you get there because of the Addo, and that was really close by car.
We felt very safe in the house, as well as our car
Remarkable value for money. The apartment was large and very well equipped for a self catering stay. Just a very short walk to the Sundays river where there are lovely views of the river and super bird watching (also from the old road bridge nearby). The community of houses here are directly opposite the South gate entrance to Addo Elephant park, and it is an easy drive down to the Sundays river mouth at the sea. The dune field here is truly breathtaking.
Extremely friendly, polite and kind hosts! The combination with safari and dinner is highly recommemdable and absolutely worthwile !
The old house is in great shape and adds to the experience a lot! Access to the riverside and a large and great englisch breakfast Sith homemade bread jam are roundimg up the overall experience!
Great host! Friendly, gives wonderful advice for addo, serves really good breakfast and helped with every request.
The place is beautiful, the house itself, the room and the view to the Sunday river.
We Highly recommend you to choose Wayne's Villa for you trip to the area.
Thank you Wayne!
Definitely the best place to stay when you want to visit Addo Elephant Park! Our house Wayne was simply amazing, he took a lot of time giving us tips for the park. Beautifully decorated room with lots of amenities. Make sure to arrive early to enjoy the wonderful sunset over the river!
In all, it was very spacious, perfect to relax and to play some table tennis to entertain our 8 year old. TV and sound system was amazing, perfect for some family viewing in the evening. Tje place is perfect for any age from young to old. Anyone will enjoy their stay at this house.
Specious room, welcome drink, great terrace with the view over the river, very nice host who helped us with tips and took us to safari drive!! The house looks very nice with all the decorations, small tree house, a pond with koi fish…
The house was spacious, very nice for a big group.
Clean pool, great entertainment, safe for kiddos and a beautiful view.
The staff were great, I was assisted by a gentlemen by the name of Sibo and he provided great service.
Everything. The landlord was extraordinary. Whenever we had a question or a problem, he easily exceeded our expectations. Really nice guy. The house had everything we needed. The location was very close to Addo's entrance.
Wayne, the house host is an amazing person. His service is above anyones expectations.
Willing to help, give information, etc
The place has an excellent location and is big and comfy
