Dullstroom is really lovely for a weekend away or a stopover from the Kruger area. There are lovely shops and fantastic restaurants. The people are super friendly and its easy to walk around and discovery little things. Mrs Simpsons restaurants is fantastic and the hosts are amazing. We also had wonderful meals at the MayFly, Baker Brothers, The Waffle Shop and, of course, Harries Pancakes. It can get cold there but in general, all the places are kitted out for this and are warm and cosy. In all honestly, the meals and curios are not cheap and some stores feel a bit like tourist traps but then again, no one is forcing you to purchase anything so it's up to your budget how much you spend. But don't expect a cheap little town. The drive from Johannesburg is quite pleasant as most of the roads are actually in fantastic condition ... BAR the small drive through Belfast. So sorry for that little town ... the roads are terrible. Oh ... be careful of cows and goats on the road. A cute sight but can be dangerous, especially on a misty morning. Always happy for a little trip to Dullstroom!

Quaint and quiet village once you leave the main road with its cheek-by jowl shops, restaurants and bric-a-brac outlets. Beautiful countryside to explore once you leave the town. A few very expensive shops some of which sell quite a lot of imported products ...why? A few more affordable options for fly-fishing in terms of catch-and-keep options would be appreciated. More locally manufactured and produced products would have been appreciated e.g. why do all fruit sellers, sell exactly the same fruit coming from Limpopo Province!

The town closes on a Tuesday and some shops stay also close until their is more people in the town... Weird. Whiskey tasting can only happen when there is a big group of people, I completely missed out on that one, even at The Highlander Hotel I was staying, I was really looking forward to do the Whiskey tasting. Sorry 😞 , make sure you are a big group for that one!!

    Fantastic location.

Fantastic location. Make sure you bring Doom spray as flies are continuous. Fellow guests that did not stay in the superior villas were complaining of sloppy housekeeping and really poor building maintenance. The restaurant next to reception has really poor attention to service and many guests complain of inattentive staff and poor quality food.

Dullstroom is a quaint little town, it is the ideal spot to rest and rejuvenate. there are plenty of small little shops and plenty pubs and restaurants. If you love whiskey there is a perfect whiskey tasting venu (Wild about whiskey). The same with gin (Dullstroom Gin). There is an abundance of fly fishing dams and plenty horse riding venues. There is plenty to keep you busy for a couple of days.

The host is so friendly & accommodating. I arranged with them to place balloons in the unit, as we were arriving on my husband's birthday, and they decorated the place so nicely. Furthermore, it's such a comfortable, well-equipped unit. The bed, 12/10 rating for comfortability. And the books! Loved seeing works from Tchaikovsky & Tolstoy. Location is also superb, walking distance from quite a few restaurants, as well as the Dullstroom Dam.

Terry Stone is a beautiful property within walking distance to Dullstroom central. We love the beautiful, comfortable couch, stunning bathtub, the two fireplaces, and pleasantly surprised by the outdoor shower! They use good quality furniture, Africology products and created a perfect ambient with soothing scents. It's a perfect place for couple getaways to wind down and enjoy each other's company.

We would like to begin with how spactacular the interior design and decor was. It was warm, welcoming and the perfect home away from home we were looking for. The vintage setting and the green vegetation created a peaceful and fresh feel. We loved how friendly everyone was in town. The art galaries, ice cream spots and Dullstroom on the dam hikes were memories worth creating again.

The view... The Hottub... The whole pod was exceptional! Its peaceful, stylish, magnificent! Waking up as seeing the sunrise over the Dullstroom valley, can't imagine anything better. They provide everything that you would need. The hottub is the best part. Outside shower and the swinging chair on the porch are perfect toughes. I will definitely recommend this to ANYONE!

The location is great. The hotel is in a quiet area in a very popular town and well worth a visit. The hotel is still new and hopefully as staff are trained better and teething problems resolved it will become the 5 star hotel they aim to be. Bird life is excellent with some good sightings.
