Harry's Place is an excellent guesthouse. Celeste was welcoming and hospitable. The room was clean, neat and comfortable. Celeste prepared healthy and delicious meals. She was instrumental to help when my husband fell ill. We will forever be grateful for her assistance.

The cottage is in a lovely location. It is quiet and the views of the surrounding mountains are spectacular. The cottage is extremely well equipped. The bedrooms have air conditioning. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need including items you wouldn't expect. The refrigerator is large, there is a large oven with electric hob and there is even a gas hob. There is a coffee plunger (a small but nice touch) and even a tea set. There is enough in terms of dishes and crockery to keep anyone happy. The living room is equipped with a large flat screen television, I'm guessing 50 inch. They have a full DSTV satellite package. The tap water is unpleasant but they provided ample drinking water in the refrigerator as well as a large water dispenser. So all in the cottage contains everything you could possibly need.

Kamieskroon has the advantage of being close to the Namaqualand nature reserve that is an excellent place to view flowers. Despite that, and also being on the N7, in a very strategic position between Namibia or Upington to Cape Town the town offers nothing much for the traveler. You need to make sure you have cash as credit cards are not accepted. Shops have little by way of supplies and the two or so eating places offer dismal selections. The one place we visited offered two disappointing items on the menu, soup or a fried type of bread donut thing (vetkoek) and that was all. All the potential customers except us simply walked away. It is a small town and most of the residents are probably lacking in resources but still, because of the town's strategic location, it could be so much more.PhillipSouth Africa - 6.0Scored 6.0

Kamieskroon is at a very beautiful spot within a number of small hills. Especially at sunrise and sunset, the views are stunning. The town itself is a bit sad - lots of empty buildings going to waste, and filled with junk. Very few places were actually open. Nowhere to eat, for instance. Nice church, but also becoming run down. The only active businesses seemed to be the petrol station, agrimark, supermarket and liquor store.PetrieSouth Africa - 8.0Scored 8.0

We really cannot comment as we only had one night but next time it will definitely be for longer. The people are very friendly and we had a fabulous visit to the Namaqua Reserve where, again, everyone was helpful and the flowers were fantastic!

Kamieskroon is a awesome place to visit for flower season.
Kamieskroon is a awesome place to visit for flower season. A must visit is Kuiervreugde, a coffee shop where you can have something to eat aswell. Access to Namaqua National Park is also in Kamieskroon and the flowers is stunning.AnnaleneSouth Africa
